If you're anything less than 290, you're more of a hindrance than help. A lot of the fights call for high powered snipers. Warpriest, Sisters, Oryx, even Golgoroth. I do agree, we were all underpowered at some point, but we pushed ourselves there. There are different ways to get your light level up. And we can't take you to a raid knowing you can't pull your weight, as you can't carry people easily, if at all, through King's Fall.

At least try to reach light 285. The Raid is light 290 at the Start, 300 at Oryx. You arent even Light 280.

It's not like people are saying must have black spindle or must have ToM (at least not the majority... although I'm sure there's some that are expecting to be carried through encounters by others that have those tools, and hoping they can get carried like they did through previous raids lol) Just "sniper". Or if you know your weapons, and if RNGesus has been at least slightly good to you - there are some primaries out there that can get the needed medium range DPSing done. (hint: it's not something like questing beast or ARI-41 with zero range perks on it. lol) If you don't have a sniper, any sniper, of a decent attack level, at all... and you don't have a decent scout rifle, range perked auto rifle, or decent range pulse rifle - you plain and simple do not have a suitable tool for the job. And you plain and simple don't belong in kings fall. There are parts of the raid that are straight up DPS races, and if you don't have any one of the MAAAAANY suitable tools for the job, you're just hoping the others on the team can carry you instead of you carrying your own weight. ---- Another thing that would help TONS, and this is for everyone... go check out some videos on these encounters before trying to show up for the raid and saying "I have absolutely no idea what's going on here", or even worse acting like ya have an idea when really ya don't. It's seriously getting old having to explain, individually, to every single person that joins a group how to do what they need to do. Then another person joins, absolutely clueless, explain it all again. Then another joins, absolutely clueless.... wash rinse repeat infinitely. king's fall is a raid where there is no carrying someone else. Everyone must stand on their own feet and do what they're supposed to do when they're supposed to do it (thank bungie finally a raid people can't just be dragged through). If a person shows up with a hand cannon, shotgun, and sword - thinking they're going to do kings fall, they're going to be in for quite a shock when they find out their team doesn't have enough DPS to flinch oryx and oryx subsequently smashes all six into tiny bits because one person of that six person team isn't holding their own weight on the ranged dps requirements this raid has.

Your level says you want to get carried.

Honestly I will say this and I don't mean or trying to insult you but this raid does actually requires minimum 290 light level no less. The first day that the raid was available my main was only at 260 light it got me to the warpriest even though we got the mechanics right we weren't doing enough damage to him me and another guy where both at 260 light the other 4 teammates was at least 280 and we couldn't do enough damage to the warpriest. We waited until most of us reached 285 minimum to get us all the way to oryx, when we got there all of us was at 290-295 and we still couldn't put enough damage to stagger oryx it wasn't until the second week we ran it again when some of our teammates finally got armors and weapons to help boost us to 300 light and finely we beaten oryx without watching any YouTube vids. So there you go people are not trying to be ass holes but it is frustrating when a teammate does not have the required weapons or light to help out the team. After our first run our second attempt it only took us 4 hours and then now the most is an hour and thirty minutes.

We had a guy who told us what to do today. It's not even a hard raid. Anyone can do it.

I m a beta tester and day one player and I got to say. It is really -blam!-ing annoying when people pull this shit, and expect you to have thousands of friends willing to play Destiny rather than any other game they enjoy with you for up to 10 hours. Wait, isn't that also what Bungie is expecting of us?

You have a point , but this has bin always the case on those sites. I am also a beta player , had many friends playing this game ,untill HOW landed, the echo travels far on my friendslist now. only 1 friend is still playing Destiny, for me its really hard to keep playing Destiny, those quests do get boring at a certain point. And most excotics arent that great at all to grind for that long. its a shame but it is what it is, i had some hopes some of my friends would return but they didnt. So raiding will be a nice memory from the past, had some good times. Peace my friend, dont be angry at them ,its just a game , for some the end has only arrived sooner for some.

I agree. I'm a day one as well and finally just recently completed the raid. Trying to get a team who is willing to walk you through what to do is near impossible. Definitely the hardest raid imo but definitely the most fun

I dont know if 279 is your highest light level but if it is I wouldn't want you on my raid team. Level up like everyone else

Actually, just about everyone I know who went into the raid did so with a sniper, since the game gives you a 100 yard stare, and it is pretty much necessary for oryx until you get better weapons from the raid or the spindle (I know it doesn't proc on oryx, it is just high impact). Anyone asking you to have a sniper with good impact is doing so because they know it is necessary. If you don't have one, you shouldn't be doing he raid anyways, as you haven't even finished the story missions.

No offense I haven't done the raid yet my self but, you should at least be 285
