I need a scout rifle!
Can anyone point me in the right direction!
I've always loved scout rifles. Was a big fan of VOC.
I need a replacement.
Something with a high rate of fire and with a decent magazine size. High stability is also a plus!
Let the debate begin!
Edit 1: Everyone keeps telling me to get the Dead Orbit Scout Rifle, so I saved up 150 legendary marks. Got my hands on it. Great Scout Rifle. Loving the Rate of Fire and Stability.
I'm a big fan of Scout Rifles, so I will be on the hunt for some more!

Just got a great one from a Gunsmith package. On my lock if you want to look. Rate of fire is quite slow though.

Dead orbit for sure I had an NL-701x year two drop from crucible (poor roll alas), but nice to know its out there!

Get Not like the others from the vanguard quartermaster. Crowd control and reactive reload.

1 ReplyI'm having a blast with "Not like the others" got it from some mission rewards. Fast rate of fire, 17 rounds, explosive rounds and a couple other goodies.

The gunsmiths 'tuonela sr4' or some similar name is a great medium impact scout rifle. Low magazine unless you have a perk. Really good stability :)

2 RepliesThe dis-43 and thread upon stars are what i use the most. Dis-43 has good range, stability, mag size, and damage. Thread upon stars is good for just blasting the hell out of stuff. Mine has firefly AND explosive rounds, for double the eplosive fun!

Raid scout and touch of malice are fun weapons. Also, the Gemini, and the tlalac, when I get it, are awesome too.

2 RepliesI was using the Gemini, but then I got the DO SR. This thing will be on my Hunter for months. Thanks to infusing, and the lack of raid primaries, I've no reason not to simply keep improving it and loving it.

3 Replieson the topic of scout rifles, has anyone used the Omolon scout rifle that the gunsmith is offering for Arms-day? the Tuonela SR4? it looks to be very similar to the old NA3D Salvation State, but with better stability. and I really liked my Salvation state. can anybody confirm my thoughts on this gun?

Check the scout rifle on my warlock, it is pretty much a vision of confluence. It is strike specific to the Flayers.

Edited by Sijray21: 9/24/2015 6:52:57 PMI just got my SUROS DIS-43 with two stability perks. I really like this gun and I plan to infuse it higher. I still prefer the MIDA for pvp, but the DIS-43 is a pretty hard hitting, stable, high mag scout rifle.

If you have an open Exotic, I too recommend the quest for the Boolean Gemini. It has good impact, rate of fire, and the armor bonus for non precision kills can be a life saver in a sticky situation.
