Hey man, promise I'm not trying to be jerk, just trying to be informing, the awoken are actually a Matriarchy, as in most ruled by females.

If they are a matriarchy, that could support the idea that the nine are somehow connected with the nine muses of Greek mythology...just a thought, more of a shot in the dark though! Good read though for sure op!
-
Oh shit, I can't believe I forgot about that. I'm actually ashamed of myself because I pride myself on being an absolute know it all slash basket case when it comes to Greek mythology. You blew my mind man thank you.
-
What does that mean?
-
Just like a patriarchy is ruled by male royalty, a monarchy is more of a king AND queen ruled society, but in the the grimoire card for the queens brother, it is specifically designated that the society is matriarchy.
-
A matriarchy is a society ruled by female royalty.

Damn sign me up
-
I mean how does it pertain to this?
-
You said "the awoken are a monarchy" I'm telling you they are actually a matriarchy. That is the concept I'm emulating here. Do you understand now?
-
A monarchy does not mean the monarch (the royal head of the government and realm) is a man. It simply means that the leader is sovereign because of the nobility of their birth. A woman can be the monarch, thus a Queen. A man can be a monarch, thus a King. That concept does not necessarily have to be a patriarchy or a matriarchy. Those, the patriarchy or matriarchy, just reflect how that society prioritizes the sexes in terms of authority. You can be a patriarchal monarchy or a matriarchal monarchy. Does this clear it up for you?

I was wondering since the ruler of Britain at a certain point was the queen and they still called it a monarch...I think.

No lol. I made this last year and I don't know what I wrote. I didn't feel like reading through it so I asked you. Thanks tho. I had no idea that there was a differentiation between male and female.
