Based on the last weekly update, we will no longer have access to Weekly Nightfall Strikes, Weekly Heroic Strikes, Daily Strikes and Daily PVP events unless we buy TTK.
(Shortened to only convey the core of the issue since this is the point that most, not all, of the commenters seem to have missed from the weekly update of 8/27)
EDIT4: This is for all the people commenting that have not read the weekly update, or that in reading it failed to understand what it said:
Per the weekly update, all modifications to the weekly and daily events are indented under the heading of "Escalation". The listing of upcoming changes is prefaced by the statement,
Once you’ve completed the new story campaign, a whole new suite of endgame activities will beckon.
And after defining all of the changes to this already included daily and weekly PVE & PVP game content, they make the following statement,
Did we mention that you’ll need to confront the immediate threat first? Oryx lies between you and these challenges. You'll need to survive his wrath to partake in the new endgame
The reference to "new endgame content" is not only to new TTK-exclusive content in the format of the update, but to the revamped daily and weekly events overall. So according to the weekly update, you will not get access to any of these daily or weekly activities until you complete the TTK story, e.g., purchase that game. Many people are arguing that this is not the case and that it will be the same as the first two expansions and access to any of these events will only be restricted when a particular strike is from TTK, but that is contrary to what the Weekly Update from Bungie states.

4 RepliesWhat a freaking joke! Absolutely pitiful!

2 RepliesMy reaction to OP

And your point is? Buy TTK or not u still get access to free content like u have up to this point. Either be grateful for what u do have or move on. No one gives a shit about pitiful cries specially not bungie or Activision.
-
I doubt they give a shit if people that dont buy dlc leave like really tho
-
*yawn* call me when you run out of money.
-
I can't tell if this is bait or not. Regardless, I'm not hungry.
-
Dear OP: please throw money at the screen. Hope this helps.
-
Dude just chill out, I'm almost positive you can come up with $40. You should be super excited and honestly all that they are giving us is worth it. :D
-
Another who has never played a respectable evolving game world. Also its funny that you forgotten it has always been like this when a new expansion comes out.

Why do you feel so entitled? When you buy a car, it is not a one-time fee. To keep using it you have to pay for gas, for maintenance and repairs. Do you see me starting lawsuits against Mitsubishi? "I already bought the car! And now you want me to pay for my gas!?" "I want my car to perform better but don't want to put the money in for aftermarket parts. Mitsubishi what the hell, why won't you make my car faster for free?" See how whiny and annoying that sounds? Look, they're trying to make this last 10 years. Think about making your car last ten years.

We all signed a EULA when we booted up Destiny that basically said we will do what we want when we want and you can eat bag of dicks if you don't like it. Other than for PvP, which isn't great to begin with, if you're not keeping up with the DLC why bother playing?
-
Higher a lawyer or buy $40 dlc hmmmm
-
He went full retard. Never go full retard.
-
Not forcing you to by it...game still gonna change regardless of purchase of content your just be locked out of a few certain things. Yes that a tad meh. But come on just chill.
-
Sadly their eula protects them because its an online game. With statements saying it is subject to always change. As much as the game and company are falling behind in terms of... Well.. Everything, theres nothing we can do about it.

Couldn't read the post, the op tears were covered in it
-
Stopped ready after about 5 lines, when I realised you were serious. Bet you're a fun one to be around at parties...

Destiny is a game that is not complete unless u make the entire journey. It's not like CoD in which there are optional dlcs that don't affect the full experience. And they aren't going to give months of hard work and good money spent to develop these dlcs away for free. Put yourself in the companies shoes. Please this is foolish. Also, it's a progressive game. 10 year plan people. That's why RIP old legendaries, hello progress. That's why RIP easy access to rewards(nightfall), hello challenges. That's why RIP old systems and mechanics, hello new ones. Calm down.

Edited by JTheBird13: 9/1/2015 11:11:13 PMOne flaw in this whole thing; they are developers, they can change things if they feel they need to. apparently you weren't around for Dark Below or HoW...it's only specific to the TTK missions, strikes and raids, that require TTK purchase in order to play them...this is a common practice now stop being a self entitled asshole and move along please. Dumbest thing I read today...and I still have to work....

Too long dont G.A.F.

Who ties your shoes for you?

Oh look... One of these threads again.. Been a while since I've seen one. Guess it was due eventually.

Avocados at law vs Bungie.

1 ReplyMe thinks someone needs to take another gander at the user agreement/terms of service. If you don't like it, don't play it. As usual, the ignorance is strong on bungie.net.

Your mommy just called you up for supper...better listen to her.
