Based on the last weekly update, we will no longer have access to Weekly Nightfall Strikes, Weekly Heroic Strikes, Daily Strikes and Daily PVP events unless we buy TTK.
(Shortened to only convey the core of the issue since this is the point that most, not all, of the commenters seem to have missed from the weekly update of 8/27)
EDIT4: This is for all the people commenting that have not read the weekly update, or that in reading it failed to understand what it said:
Per the weekly update, all modifications to the weekly and daily events are indented under the heading of "Escalation". The listing of upcoming changes is prefaced by the statement,
Once you’ve completed the new story campaign, a whole new suite of endgame activities will beckon.
And after defining all of the changes to this already included daily and weekly PVE & PVP game content, they make the following statement,
Did we mention that you’ll need to confront the immediate threat first? Oryx lies between you and these challenges. You'll need to survive his wrath to partake in the new endgame
The reference to "new endgame content" is not only to new TTK-exclusive content in the format of the update, but to the revamped daily and weekly events overall. So according to the weekly update, you will not get access to any of these daily or weekly activities until you complete the TTK story, e.g., purchase that game. Many people are arguing that this is not the case and that it will be the same as the first two expansions and access to any of these events will only be restricted when a particular strike is from TTK, but that is contrary to what the Weekly Update from Bungie states.

1 Replydon't try to sue, you'll just lose money
-
I imagine you alone in a courtroom with your lawyer saying "where's bungie?" And bungie is just chilling at their building laughing at you thinking how stupid you are
-
If you don't buy the new content, the game is no longer worth it, shitty business practice, but real. I don't expect legal actions to be successful, though.
-
But I've already purchased the dlc so this doesn't apply to me so.......
-
I don't want free loaders playing my game anyways!
-
Well good. If u are not continuing to support bungie after a year I'm glad your not gonna get to do the nightfall Bye Felicia Good luck on ur fake lawsuit bitch
-
Oh look, another "lawsuit" against Bungie over some cry baby shit. Haven't seen this since December.
-
1 ReplySucks for you. Better buy TTK then if you want to continue having fun playing destiny LOL xP

3 RepliesYou might want to go read the terms of service you agreed to when installing destiny before you start your lawsuit
-
10 RepliesBuying the DLC will be a lot cheaper than a lawyer's wages, and when you lose, you'll be on the hook for the defendants expenses.

14 RepliesEdited by Rustymoose13: 9/1/2015 11:37:24 PMYou are not being locked out, the level of these events are being raised and if you can't meet that level then you can't play them. Pretty simple if you ask me, they have raised the level of gameplay for people who support them and continue to support them. If you don't want to buy destiny the taken king then that's your choice but you are the only person to blame if you can't play content

5 RepliesGood luck with the lawsuit. Can't wait for you to lose more money attempting to make a lawsuit than spend $40 for TTK.
-
Good point i dont think id waist the time but ur right it is against the law to stop us from playing what we pAyed for already and we could possibly win a class action lawsuit as long as they didnt cover their tracks in the fine print of terms of use. Really though it be more worth our time to stop buying content and watch their sales tank than waste months persueing a lawsuit that wouldnt be100percent succesful. Now i bought ttk and many others did and wont back iether so bungie/activision win. They are being immoral i agree
