Note: This is not to classify anyone as elitist or superior or anything else. I don't want an emblem or recognition. I just want to reminisce with my fellow guardians.
So you might be a true Year One Guardian...
If you remember scouring the Beta for hours and spending inordinate amounts of time shooting ??? enemies to see if they could die and if they would give any cool loot.
If you listened to the bones in Skywatch "speak" and know exactly to what they are referring.
If you spent hours on end developing chest farming runs in an effort to get ahead on resources.
If you hoarded glimmer items by farming Cabal in Exclusion Zone so you could afford multiples of guns from Iron Banner for each character.
If you got to 26 for the first time on multiple characters by virtue of The Queen's hatred for specific preexisting enemies (in particular our friend the rising Archon from the first mission).
If you didn't have to worry about doing hard mode Atheon at level 29 because that's what level everyone else was too.
If you watched Suros and the Mythoclast's cataclysmic falls from grace.
If you're holding on to a Shadow Price/Grim Citizen/Vanquisher or Supremacy because they're your babies.
If you remember control on First Light (or even First Light in general anymore).
If you have seen Xur sell the Gjallarhorn.
If you remember countless trips to the Tower to rearrange gear on characters.
If you've experienced the sorrow of only getting ascendant shards when you NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR GUNS.
If you seriously contemplated forfeiting a weapon or armour piece so you could upgrade your sparrow.
If seeing "Fangs of Nyx" got you excited... Until you found out it was just an ugly ship.
If you've had several talks with yourself trying not to get your hopes up, because that purple engram is almost definitely a blue... Or worse...
Addition 1- If you broke the Atheon fight into 2 teams of 3, an inside group and an outside group.
Addition 2- If you remember how much Xur hated Warlocks. And/or loved the Sunbreakers...
Addition 3- If you supered at heavy drop in pvp because you got more heavy by killing all the enemies who picked it up than by grabbing it yourself.
Addition 4- If the interceptor driver was the equivalent of a thorn/final round sniper user today.
Addition 5- If you remember hunting 3 fallen walkers. Except it wasn't 3. It was more like 8.
More to come.
Note: No old cheeses will make their way on to this list. This is a noble list meant for nostalgia and pride, not shame and underhanded shiftyness.

I wasted hours of my life running around in circles on every planet getting stupid resources. I probably would have quit for good had they not changed it when they did.
-
2 RepliesWhen warlocks were master race just because they can push Templar and Atheon off a cliff.
-
2 RepliesGot some more: If you remember the Shingen-C and Galahad-E's names and how they were better than 95% of legendaries in pvp If you remember the og bullet sponge: the devil walker on destiny's first strike in the beta If you remember the forums after the queens wrath event- bungie did mess that up pretty bad though If you remember the collective groan of getting Phogoth on a strike playlist

Nice.

1 ReplyIf u play combined arms, which is like elimination and is only a temporary game mode, u can still play first light
-
Your a true destiny player if you remember stacking up on hella spinmetal and weapon parts in the beta hoping it would transfer when the real game came out and you would have a huge upper hand over other players haha
-
Everything but Xur selling Ghorn, had Destiny day one, but Xbox broke and had to wait till October to get a new one

1 ReplyYear one player is somebody who played year one. List should say "Played during destiny's first year". Maybe title should be "What a true veteran player is"??
-
When the first time phogoth came up as a night fall it took me well over an hour to beat him.
-
6 RepliesHaha. On a Saturday I went to the tower and saw xur. Ooo this guy's cool, what's ghallahorn? Well I'll just get it next week when I have enough strange coins. Come back next day. He was right here! Where'd he go?!?!
-
3 RepliesIf this makes sense... Roses are red Your item is blue Your engram was purple Sucks to be you Or You have A Jack-O-Light or if you remember what Holliday season brought us (winter break for the U.S.)
-
If you remember choosing who atheon teleported, then having to teach the other three raid members that didn't go how to use relic.

11 RepliesEdited by BeachsideZeus: 7/26/2015 1:25:22 AMIf you remember having to unlock the subclasses defender, bladedancer, and sunsinger by reaching rank 15 on your character. If you remember that Vex used to be the best. If you remember First Light and Bastion in control and then getting removed from those types of game modes.
-
4 RepliesGoing into the vault of glass with a blue primary weapon!
-
Relate to everything on here except beta, getting to 26 from the queen's wrath, and seeing xur seeling g-horn
-
The mark of the unbroken was a crucible bounty during beta
-
If you remember that iron banner was a timed event during the beta (example: Iron banner would be live at 1:00pm - 3:00pm and would start again at 6:00pm - 8:00pm).
-
11 RepliesI wonder how many times I'm still going to have to say this, but. You're a real veteran if you: -Farmed the first loot cave -Struggled as a lvl 29 -Doing VoG on normal was hard. -Remember Combined Arms being the "standard" game mode, aka Control. (But that was in the Alpha and Beta though) -Remember your Legendary Engrams being decrypted into rares. -And most important of all, having the Sign of Founders.
