How do I explain Destiny to my parents?
So my dad asked me one time what destiny was about...
I didn't really know the ENTIRE backstory that helps explain the rest of it, but I had a feeling that he wouldn't understand...
Could any of you give me a good summary of the game in case I ever get in that situation again?

1 ReplyOK so some mystical thing called the traveler came to earth. With it brought the tripling of human lifespan and mercury, Venus, mars, and the moon was colonized. Then came the darkness, the vex, fallen, cabal, and hive. They all have come for the traveler. Part of the travelers light was used to create guardians. The guardians defended earth And pushed the aliens away. It is speculated that the traveler used the guardians as pawns for its own good. The fallen also used to be protected by the traveler until the darkness met them. The storyline and raids are the fights against the aliens, pushing them back.

Destiny; an immensely popular First-Person-Random-Number-Generated-Shooter is like a playground with softest grass and a beautiful view, but the lamest jungle-gyms and swing sets. Avoid if you have little time to burn endlessly doing nightfalls week after week and getting nothing for your time, but like an Alzheimers patient, you try again hoping to get back your No Land Beyond that got lost through some destiny app garbage even though it was @&$?ing locked.

1 ReplyA white sphere called the traveler comes from a place unknown to our solar system to terra form planets and allow us to live longer, advance physically, mentally and our technology as well. It uses its light to create guardians and stuff. Eventually the darkness and the armies that create it found us and the traveler, who do t like the traveler or us. Then we fight for a while and the darkness takes over planets and we barely defend earth. Eventually the travelers crippled and releases the ghosts to create guardians and revive us, allowing you/ the player to even be found out in Old Russia by a ghost and revived. You/ the player then find a ship and ho the the last safe city which holds the traveler and the tower. You then go on various missions finding crap out, killing bad guys and crippling the darkness. You also make some friends, some enemies and learn who's the biggest jackass of em all *cough cough* Rahool *cough*. Then you can kill more enemies and stuff for just an additional $20 w/tax. Also these "new" areas are already on disc, just locked. So in the end you play through a highly addictive broken game to heal your broken god through a broken story killing broken enemies and gods like Crota and earn through the broken system of rng to eventually go unbroken in the broken crucible.
