Everyone always posts that it doesn't affect rockets but it clearly does. This clip is taken from Crota hard.
Summary: two rockets with weapons downs him. without weapons of light he still has a shield left
Edit: video two which shows you can do it but it's a little consistent. Not sure why as of right now

Can't down him while solo, yet can down him while I am the only one alive in the fireteam. Same weapons, same buff, everything is the same except number of people in the activity. There has to be some scaling involved or the wolfpack rounds are just that inconsistent. Watch the second set of rockets, he has noticeably less of his shields, in fact the shield was almost gone. Why is the big question here... Peculiar. I can confidently state that if you want to two man Crota it can be done fairly reliably with weapons of light at this point, but that doesn't help the solo guys.

2 RepliesThis would be easier to show without Gjallarhorn and against a different boss. Gjallarhorn Wolfpack rounds are never consistent, and we all know how glitchy Crota is. Try doing a video against Valus using Truth. Drop the wol as he unloading in, shoot him with a primary until you are sure he is taking damage, switch to truth and hit him and then grab the wol and hit him again. If the second shot does more damage then wol works for rockets, if not then it doesn't. Pretty simple and doesn't have the complications of Wolfpack rounds and glitchy behavior.

4 RepliesIt appears to be inconsistent for me today. Last night it was reliable but today on the other hand not so much. If you look, it almost appears that there are more wolf pack rounds when he is downed vs when he doesn't kneel. I had more luck when I was further away then when I was right next to him, for instance on the rock. I'm wondering if you are too close if the second rocket will destroy the wolf pack rounds for the first one causing him not to go down? This is perplexing

1 ReplyThe problem is you're looking for consistency in this stupid game. It would be lovely if they gave us some actual numbers to work with.
-
4 Repliesyou keep having people in the fireteam even though dead it effects the connection. Have you ever solo'd crota and then tried to do it with people in the fireteam but dead ? It really effects how he reacts to gjallarhorn shots, not sure why but he becomes very inconsistent with multiple people in the fireteam when firing only 2 rockets. Try it again pure solo.

I thought everyone knew this already

1 ReplyJust studied the video. Results with weapons of light are as follows: Initial blast: 1870 Secondary blast: 793 All Wolfpack rounds: 174 Results without weapons of light: Initial blast: 1879 Secondary blast: 589 Wolfpack rounds: 173-87 Basically, depending on the amount of Wolfpack rounds (can't find actual amount per rocket) DPS for a single round with WoL could be anywhere from 3876 to 4395 (that's with 7 to 10 WPRs). Without WoL, it's any where from 3442 to 3759.
-
16 RepliesWrong. Look at the damage numbers. Wolfpack rounds stay at 173 during WoL and without WoL It doesn't effect it
-
5 RepliesHere is my second video, I tried it again and it didn't get him close to going down. I have illuminated on.

1 ReplyFor everyone posting that it doesn't work and blah blah blah, we two manned him on hard with myself and a blade dancer hunter using invisibility after this. Downed him every time with two rockets. I am certain that I won't be pleasing everyone but I will be happy to spend five minutes shooting Crota with rockets maybe from different locations too later tonight

5 RepliesI like how half of the comments on this thread are that one dude going "No it doesn't!" In response to everyone. Poor kid.
-
4 RepliesYou don't need a weapons for normal scrota I two man it every week with no bubble
-
1 ReplyMake a video of you testing it on each planet, in each strike, in crucible and in both raids. If you are truly a man of science you will deliver, good sir.
-
This is actually very useful. Thanks for the vid! :)
-
1 ReplyIt does not, I tried with Ghorn same damage with and without weapons. Including Wolf Pack rounds.

10 RepliesEdited by ISpeakLOGIC: 5/9/2015 8:50:15 AMGoing to try this now, I guarantee it won't work. Edit: tested and doesn't work. It takes 3 on hard op is wrong

6 RepliesEdited by JohnnyFiveAlive: 5/9/2015 11:02:02 AMthis is normal mode, clever and you hooked quite a few edit: looks like you were in hard mode and your buddies landed some snipes for you from the door. well done.

2 RepliesEdited by Argonaut101: 5/9/2015 10:46:24 AMWeapons of light affects weapons. Hence the name. Anyone that thought otherwise is a full blown rampton. I didn't even know people thought otherwise
-
2 RepliesFirstly normal mode. Secondly first rockets were closer to Crota meaning less distance to target. When you tried to prove without weapons you stood further away meaning rockets have to travel further, velocity with ghorn is not the meaning by time second rocket has reached the shield will have not reduced as much as two rockets from closer distance.
-
8 RepliesI didn't even know people out there believed weapons of light was exclusive to all weapons but rockets :s that's like someone saying heavy synth works only for rockets and jot heavy machine guns. Makes zero sense
-
Never seen the claim it didn't work on rockets. Just that it doesn't work with the sword.
-
1 ReplyI always thought it worked outside of raid bosses. They switched it off on atheon initially once that video of the team smashing him in one round came out. Not that it made that much difference. I figured they'd done the same for crota. It certainly feels like aksor goes down quickest when using WoL but I've never tested it scientifically. What I can 100% confirm though is that WoL does not REDUCE the damage output of rockets, so why wouldn't you pop the bubble anyway. It's not doing anything glowing yellow in the bitt left of your screen ...

2 RepliesIT helps for THE impact but not for the clusters

1 ReplySo WoP for Deathsinger is useless then?
