Start by getting rid of the portal.
So many things wrong but one of the biggest offenders is the portal and how it has robbed the soul of this game.
Bring back pinnacle weapons and allow them to be stronger than most other legendary weapons. Adjust the perk effectiveness in pvp.

I would be a destiny main again if they remove the portal. As a PvP main I’ve always enjoyed Pve and I’ve beat most of the hardest content in the game. I refuse to touch the portal and I don’t care about tired loot..

I can think of just one thing I like about the portal - doing something else like working out, reading, watching a good movie or show. Anything but playing the portal trash. And its not the layout or use of the portal I hate its how restricting it is! "Play anyway you want" Bungo claims then came the portal and you can do NOTHING you want to do the way Destiny was meant to be played. It’s for loot farming. And it’s awful with a bland loot table too boot

I've had it. Tired of the portal, and extremely tired of jumping puzzles, timers, boss sponges and barrier champions who who are so immune to damage they are completely unfazed by a super. I'm barely into the 400's and I am not enthused about playing. Without bounties and vendors the main map is useless. Other planets are useless. It started with the Pale Heart and went downhill. I see no path forward. I never thought I'd miss the Tangled Shore.

Its not just the portal. Just came back and tried renegades, lived the campaign - old style destiny on “ normal” difficulty with no modifier’s or deltas. Even enjoyed the legendary version of campaign, tough but fair. Then came to start levelling up syndicate faction missions. Bleeding portal in disguise. Got to 400 playing campaign and its all gm difficulty missions full of shite modifier’s at -25 delta, timed with limited revives - what a crock of shite! These missions should be the old normal/legendary selection without limited revives. Whole feking game is a portal.

I would like to see a parallel universe from 2021. Non of the retcon hive crap. Non of the let’s be friends with the enemies parables. Delete all of the everyone wins a trophy nonsense. Reinstall the LFG app. Remove FTMM. Remove solo queues. Make Destiny great again!

That's not going to happen. They should have started doing that back when Renegades first dropped. What did they do instead? Doubled down on the Portal by introducing Arena Activities which usually end in failure if you're doing matchmaking.
