Hi Bungie Help,
I’m experiencing an account-wide progression issue where my Power level appears to be permanently capped at 300, despite playing the live version of Destiny 2 (Season 28).
Platform: Xbox
Game version: Destiny 2, Season 28 (current)
What’s happening:
• My main character is stuck at 300 Power
• All gear drops (including from Vanguard Ops) drop at 300 Power
• I can launch Vanguard Ops, Crucible, etc. normally
• Even brand-new characters start with 300 Power gear
• The Quest Archive is empty
• A Guardian Rises / New Light quest is missing
• Shaw Han appears in the Cosmodrome, but has no quest available
What I’ve tried:
• Completing multiple Vanguard Ops strikes
• Creating a new character and playing the Cosmodrome intro
• Checking the Quest Archive (New Light / The Past / Abandoned)
• Equipping all newly dropped gear
• Logging out/in and restarting the game
None of these apply the modern Power floor (1600+). All characters and drops remain capped at 300.
Expected behavior:
• Account should receive the global Power floor
• Vanguard Ops and other playlist activities should drop gear above 300
• New characters should not start at 300 Power
This appears to be an account flag issue where the Power floor/New Light progression was never applied.
Any help or escalation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

The current power floor is 10, and the gear hard cap is now 550. Ignore anything that mentions a power of 1,600-2,000, etc, as these are all now obsolete. No item will exceed 550 here and now. As the new system is 10-550, a power of 300 is well beyond the place where 'normal' loot drops will raise your power. You need to do Portal activities that offer bonus drops and aim for a high grade. That will drop higher powered gear.
