PSA - Sunless Cell Nightfall Champions
After you spawn in and make your way to the first combat area, then head to the centre area of the room for the first Unstop, another Unstop will spawn where you came in, backtrack to kill it for Platinum.
Seems like poor design or another Bungie troll.

don't kill all the enemies in the pit after you drop down. Just run past the knight and acolytes, but you can take out the thrall if you want. If you leave any of those guys alive, the champ won't respawn

I was wondering why I got a plat in one run and the other runs were mostly gold.

I noticed this. I was soloing the master nightfall and usually when i run sunless gm in a fireteam, we usually skip the last unstop from spawning but: 1. Before entering the structure there is one unstop 2. Entering the structure you are greeted by a few acolytes with an unstop 3. One unstop spawns as you descend, you can apparently skip him, because i have and still got play, i am just much slower solo and didnt notice he spawned until he destroyed one of my runs
