For several days I have been using the potion that targets drops of the new SMG from Prison of Elders, and I yet I haven’t gotten a single drop. Just burning through that potion with no visible benefit. So what exactly is the point of potions and how are they supposed to work?! Several days of playing PoE, Dungeons, etc… with no drop of the SMG has me burned out and completely bored of the game.
I hate this artificially forced RNG to make people play longer hours than they want or need. I want to be excited to play because I know I’m working toward getting the thing I want, rather than feeling like logging in is a dreadful task. Potions are supposed to make us feel like we’re targeting the thing we want no? Otherwise, why do they even exist?!

3 RepliesI get weapons to drop pretty consistently, but I do not use potions at all. Plus they only last for 20-40 minutes so depending on how long it takes you to do a certain activity tou May only get one chance at a drop if st all. The potion thing is horrible to begin with

3 RepliesI thought it was only me. I been trying to get a decent HC roll. But it keeps dropping GL or pulse, lol. Oh well. I'm hardly playing these days, I'm pretty much done with destiny. I just log in from time to time to just shoot some stuff. Otherwise my money and most of the time is spent on good games now

I don’t even bother using them unless it’s for a bounty completion. Whole potion thing is useless garbage

I noticed that scavengers fate tonic does the opposite in contest of elders. I did notice it works in crucible playing for an hour. I got maybe 3 or 4 drops in the time it had affect.

6 RepliesUse the Scavenger's Fate Tonic. All it gives me is SMGs. And if I use the SMG I get the shotgun. Also.....perk weighting isn't fixed. I have got the same 6 rolls on both the smg and shotgun. I have only season lonewolf/closingtime once on the shotgun out of 100 of them. They need to stop lying.

I use the blue that drops all the ToE weapons. The SMG drops for me all the time

Idk I have barely even used any of mine

it's just a minor buff to get you to use the potion hamster wheel and to get you to stay logged in a little extra to not waste the crappy buff zero extra fun, just pure suit manipulation of the player base hoping for extra metrics for a bonus this is now a bunch of suits that just want to extract short term bonus goals regardless of the cost to the franchise

Same here.

Games a mess, man.

5 RepliesThe potion system is awful.

Absolutely garbage tonic system! It actually seems as if the tonics are decreasing the chances of the attuned weapon dropping, and if they do drop they’re guaranteed to have the works perks possible. Just bring back crafting, cuz this -blam!- ain’t it!
-
Same, and I have said the same thing. I’m willing to bet it’s by design, but as soon as some streamer calls attention to it, the suddenly, it’s a “bug” that is causing the issue. Mark my words.

I hate it too but on the bright side the new smg sucks so there's that....
