I've been going through some of my old games for the Xbox and the Xbox 360.. And man some of those little booklets where so high quality. That feeling when you drive home from the game store and you get to read the booklet on the way home.. That's something that my kids or hell, even my little brother will probably never experience.. Kind of makes you think..

2 RepliesYeah. Gaming has fallen from grace. A crash is coming. Soon, tutorials will be paid dlc.

I remember the pokemon ones where it would show the gym leaders
-
Yes...

Man I love those things! I remember my friend got me Skyrim for my birthday and it came with a parchment map! That was so cool...
-
I miss those.

In the 90's, instruction booklets had comic sections and full on character bios included in them. This continued for many years until the ps2 days ended.
-
2 Repliessometimes they are bland but other times games are so creative with their pamphlets
-
I miss the ones that came with the older games because it served as a mini guide on how to play and gave some background info on the lore of the story. A lot of effort went into those, but now most of that info is just integrated into the game.

Yep I miss having them in games. Now most are online manuals. I still have my old halo 2 ce manual.
-
My halo 2 still has an unused 1 month, it expired 10 years ago though
-
It annoys me.
-
I miss them not being advertisements for the season pass.

3 RepliesLoved the booklets, I would read up on all the enemy's while mum drove me home lol Used to love getting second hand games and finding someone's notes in the back.
-
It's actually digital now (on the one at least) which is fucking stupid.

That's what what I used to do all the time but times have changed
