Gjallarhorn, to Nerf or not to Nerf
Only show your appreciation and comments if you have it please
In all honesty I'm 50/50 with wanting/not wanting Gjallarhorn to be nerfed. Yes in a way that allows more than Just Gjallarhorn become mostly everyone's go-to weapon in a raid or boss fight.
But on the opposite side, Solar damage is and tracking make Omnigul easier if I'm by myself or get caught up in another match with players who can't fight to stay alive in the raid/strike/story.
I took a poll and I'm on both sides but Why do some of you guys say it should never get nerfed? are you scared of a challenge or no? your answer to that question shouldn't even be "Well I use Icebreaker or whatever instead because blah blah blah" it should be, yes I like a challenge. it's like when Crota's End got cheesed, alot of people complained when they patched it because they had to figure a new way out to complete a raid that was designed for 2 hours of play and thanks to designer error they became easily cheesed, Bungie wants Destiny to be a 10 year game but if everyone keeps trying to play it faster and faster and move on past guns, armor and everything else then what's the point?

Bungie has nerfed so much, and practically ruined the game from release. When it first came out (before the first set of nerfs/patches) the game was so much better. I'm not saying it's not good now, just not nearly as good. Gjallarhorn is like the one thing that the guardians have had since the "golden age" of destiny. It's a relic of the times where the game was played to the fullest extent. It's the only thing that the day one players have that's great that hasn't been butchered by bungie. It's not the type of weapon that we want, it's the type of weapon we deserve... Forever a symbol of the potential this game wasted, and the corruption that's ensued since launch. So in short, gjallarhorn should not be nerfed neither now, nor never. I think my reasons are clear.

Probably doesn't need a nerf since it's mainly a boss weapon. However, if it does ever get sold by Xur it will be tuned down a bit. This is because everyone will be using it and it will go against what they said before with the last exotics pass, which was that they want to see people using a variety of weapon combinations. For the record, I don't really use my ghorn mostly because I go between my Suros, Red death and Mida (depending on the mood I am in and because I like having my exotic on the primary slot)

1 ReplyEdited by Swiftlock: 1/29/2015 1:12:27 PMI can't think of one instance in Destiny where nerfing had a strongly positive outcome. - Shotguns and Auto Rifles were nerfed, but they are still insanely effective in the Crucible and people still bitch about them - AND they became less effective in PvE as a result. - Invective had its rate of fire nerfed... which didn't really seem to do much? - Monte Carlo had its range nerfed, and Red Death had its damage nerfed... which still makes no damn sense. - Suros Regime was nerfed TWICE, and people still bitch about that. - Pocket Infinity and Vex Mythoclast were nerfed into the floor to the point where they became so underwhelming that they had to be re-buffed. I have no idea how people delude themselves into thinking yet [i]ANOTHER[/i] nerf will change things for the better. [u]We should be discussing ways to improve the weak weapons, not weaken the strong weapons.[/u]

Ghorn is only borderline good. dont get me wrong, it is the best weapon in the game, but anything but the smallest nerf would ruin the weapon

No. It's an exotic, it should be OP and it should be hard to obtain, that's what makes it "exotic" No need to nerf. Although I do not agree with the whole elitism of other people wanting a Ghorn in their raids. It's not even a requirement. Plenty of people have cleared raids without.

You haven't even unlocked wolf pack rounds and your laughing at people who don't have a gjallarhorn. Your thread is pointless because you basically haven't even used it to its full potential and your 50/50 on whether it should be nerfed? The only way they could nerf it is taking out Wolfpack rounds and if they do that you might as well call it a legendary at best. Bungie will never nerf it. Ever.

I get freaking sick and tired of ppl bitching, nerf the Ghorn. Shut the -blam!- up! They have plenty of other things to be fixed in in the game that need to be done before they Nerf guns. The Oracle Succumb cheese, The praetorian that gains his health back cheese, and of course The crota oversoul cheese.so please the Ghorn should be a prize weapon it doesn't deserve to be nerfed if you get it good if you don't get it just pray harder I guess but no neefing the Ghorn... My apologizes

I don't have a Ghorn...want one badly. But as has been said, it's an Exotic. It's [i]supposed[/i] to be powerful. It's [i]supposed[/i] to outclass everything else. I think the answer should be to further buff the other Exotics to make them more viable for PvE. I'm not sure WHAT should be buffed or how but I'm fairly certain that Suros, Icebreaker, PnT, and Truth are fine as is. Dragons Breath could use tracking or a slow or incendiary type burn applied to the Solar Flare

No need to nerf it. Just buff the other exotic rocket launchers. Yes I have 3, however I do not use it when killing Crota on hard mode. My Suros is more valuable for that fight. The hunger of crota does the job for taking down his sheild.

It shouldn't be nerfed, I've been able to complete all aspects of the game without it ... So with it all it does is speed things along... That's no reason for it to be nerfed.
