What are your thoughts your thoughts on guys using girl characters all the time? XD I've been playing for a long time and almost all girl characters are actually guys. Would you say this is a bad thing?

4 RepliesI don't really understand it either, but I think I may know part of the reason we keep asking this question: When we create characters, there are some of us (myself included), that project ourselves on our character -we see the character as ourselves. I think there is a minority (just seems there are fewer to me, but still a significant number) of players who are detached from their character, and see it as a individual outside themselves. Those are your male/female crossovers. Those players like to build characters totally inverse of who they are. Then there's probably trans-genders here and there that identify with the opposite sex. But much like real life, they are truly low-frequency.

Absolutely not. All of my characters are female because they are simply more aesthetically pleasing, whenever the game goes third-person that is. Yes, even the Exo. The character you play, operate or direct is not necessarily one that has to be an extension of yourself. And I think it shows a sense of security in both your sensibilities and outlook if you can step out of your own identity to play a character of the opposite gender. And obviously that goes for female players with male characters, as well.

Edited by jay p: 2/1/2015 5:12:48 PMPeople not dying in real life? What are your thoughts about people not dying in real life when their character dies? I've been playing for a long time and almost everyone I've seen die in game has not died in real life. Would you say this is a bad thing?

Because when you play an RPG, it's a chance to be different than you are now. That's why most video game characters are strong, handsome, and super smart. Because the average gamer is none of these. But when you've played almost every single type of scenario with a male character, you want to see through a different character. Like the difference between male Shepard and femshep. Different dialogue, different looking armor, different choices. At least, that's what I think.

1 Reply"Hey baby, you look hot in that Warlock Raid gear and cat ears! You raid here often?" Deep voice- "At least once a week, you?" You're a Dude!?!?

I wonder when these stupid posts will stop it's a game

If you have to look at the back side for hours then i would rather it be a female. What does it say about you looking at a man the whole time.

4 RepliesNot a bad thing its just weird how many transvestites play Destiny
-
Because its a game and there is an option to choose what you want to be in game. Why is there so many threads on this topic? Lol

Women... Women characters. I'd feel all sick inside the other way, far more so than staring at some dude as my avatar. If I have to stare, I prefer women, sorry can't be helped.

I like rolling with the makeshift scarf or field hood just so my female hunter's ass is visible for all to see. I do it for the greater good of the Guardian community. Plus I like to do it just to be different. I never see a 31 hunter running around with the early game schwag.

1 ReplyMy male Titan has 2 side chicks he pimps out and takes radiant energy and shards from.
-
My ass looks way better as a female titan.
-
Metroid. Samaus. Nuff said.
-
For me a warlock looks like it should be a girl, while Titans on the other hand look like it should be a male model
-
Who cares I'm a dude and I play on a girl character just visually they look better to me and if I'm going to be looking at an ass in 3rd person ide rather it be a nice firm chicks ass

Im a guy and all my friends had female characters in Diablo 3 and when i came to destiny they were like "wtf" and at that point i wantedbto cry
-
Ass and titties
-
Id rather hear a girl moan than a Guy :)
-
What's with all the players playing as exos, it's weird unless you are a robot.
-
2 RepliesI'm too much of a man to use female characters.
-
Zomg, and what about those women who play as male characters? That's totally weird, amiright?
-
2 RepliesIf guys didn't play as female characters we'd have, what like, six total females running around? So you'd rather look at male characters running around all day in your game instead of coming to terms with your gender/identity bias? Or are you trying to use Destiny as a dating service hoping that the female awoken hunter you are talking to is willing to put out? My lord, these have to be the dumbest forum topics ever...

I initially made a male hunter but my 9 year old son stole my character. So as soon as we hit lvl 15, i made a female blade dancer because I knew he wouldn't play as a girl character. Yet he has no problem wearing the hand me down armor. ...

I don't care, simple as that. Let people play how they want to.
