What is the point of leveling up? So you can take LESS damage, but still get killed in a few hits from any mob of basically any level? I don't understand why this game level scales to such an extensive degree. In any other MMO I have played, if I work my ass off grinding and earning my level, then I should be able to use my character like I have earned.
I didn't think much about this when the game first came out. I figured that as we leveled, we would eventually get to where enemies did significantly much damage. Then, pre-DLC I was thinking of how "great" it would be to be above level 30. Now that I have two level 31's, I barely even see a difference. What is the point of leveling anymore, especially leveling to 32? Is it mainly just "bragging rights"?
I love this game, but when I am almost max level and still nearly die from running past a group of level 7 dregs, it gets pretty old.

I hope they fix this in Destiny 2. If someone puts countless hours into a game progressing their character, then it show in their a$$ kickn abilities. The minute u surpass the ads level u show own them with little effort. Without this u cannot gauge how strong u become which renders the number values useless. Whether the gameplay becomes boring or not, u should feel like a boss if u put in the work to level up ur character

Edited by Tsubasa218: 1/26/2015 8:36:37 AMI know, it kinda doesn't make sense. The damage scaling works differently both ways. If you are 4 levels or lower below the enemy: 100% damage penalty If you are 3 levels the enemy: ~52% damage penalty If you are 2 levels the enemy: ~42% damage penalty If you are 1 levels the enemy: ~32% damage penalty If you are 0 levels below or higher than the enemy: 0% damage penalty (This just means that the attack power is neglected, so you look at impact rating) On the other hand, enemies don't have these disadvantages against you! A level 2 dreg deals as much damage to you (lv32) as a level 30 dreg! Then again, it would probably be really boring if you're just immune to anything below level 29. That's EVERYTHING other than Dailies at lv30, Nightfalls and Weekly Heroics at lv30, VoG Hard, Crota's End Normal and Hard. I'd probably quit from boredom.

You level so you can handle the end game content not so you can crush level 10 mobs.

well said ,it's annoying to say the least .

Don't forget to adjust your armor, recovery and agility stats. It makes a minor difference.

Go into the VoG as a 24, then as a 30. There's definitely a reason for leveling up, and that's it. Honestly, I enjoy the scaling, it makes enemies still seem like a threat, and makes it so I can play with my lower level friends and not ruin the game for them.

Same thing happens to me. I think I'm gonna die from the low level dregs.

1 ReplyAgreed. I want to walk through the steppes in old Russia laughing as level 2 bullets plink off of me.

2 RepliesThis happens to me too. Level 24s shouldn't be able to touch me. I don't feel powerful. Definitely not becoming legend.
