Husk of the Pit drop a scam?
Alright, So I kid you not when I say I have spent all day (7 hours) farming for the Husk of the Pit in both 'Fist of Crota' and patrols. I have literally been killing nothing but Blades, so much in fact that I have fully upgraded two Raid Gear items and my Hard Light. I'm seriously stressed out about this. All my friends seem to just jump into a random match and get it their first try. Is it possible that I'm seriously just extremely unlucky, or is Destiny screwing with me?
Getting super freaking aggravated with this.

Im telling you man if you dont get it after 20+ times its not gonna drop for you until the next hot fix or patch. Trust me.

Just unlucky. Took me 5 hours. Took two of my friends less than 1. Im guessing the drop rate is around 5%. Just keep trying and make sure your primary has empty slots. If you are full you will never see it on right side of screen and it will go right to mail.

Edited by Richie08: 12/20/2014 4:10:12 AMIve been farming it for hours each day since it started dropping still cant get it. Everytime a friend joins me they get it within 5 tries. Its really starting to get annoying. I finally got it just now after another 17 tries lol.

I spent about 3 days just minding my own business and doing Eris's missions. I tend to farm around Cosmodrome just finish those HIVE bounties and occasionally, I kill a Blade here and there. I never really thought about farming them soley to get the Husk of the Pit. I never even knew it existed. When I got the drop, i thought it was some random item since it came as a white icon. Didnt think it was a weapon. Well, lucky me, I got a weapon without even realizing it. That is how you play RNG. Play without hoping youll get something good and youll probably be pretty happy with this game.

I'm not sure if I have it equipped on my Titan or not right now, but I can if it's not. I got it on my first try with my Titan, my hunter took around 12 Fist of Crota missions to get.

I killed about 60 knights before giving up. It'll come in time, so don't stress yourself and don't farm any longer.
