Husk of the Pit drop a scam?
Alright, So I kid you not when I say I have spent all day (7 hours) farming for the Husk of the Pit in both 'Fist of Crota' and patrols. I have literally been killing nothing but Blades, so much in fact that I have fully upgraded two Raid Gear items and my Hard Light. I'm seriously stressed out about this. All my friends seem to just jump into a random match and get it their first try. Is it possible that I'm seriously just extremely unlucky, or is Destiny screwing with me?
Getting super freaking aggravated with this.

Go with a friend have him get the last shot after you put some shots on him. That is how ten of my friends got it.

It's not... it took me a while but I got a couple of them. Just keep grinding!

Got it this evening. Finished Eris' "Kill 3 Blades of Crota" bounty, then the one after that dropped it for me. Didn't see anything to pick up. It just appeared on my screen like a raid loot drop. Took me about an hour and a bit to level the upgrade node with Hive kills though. It's horrific to use in its common form.

Took me until yesterday to finally get it. Don't let yourself get stressed man, RNGesus is a jerk... but he'll come around and give you some luck eventually. Also, I think it's considered a rare drop. So whatever the drop rate on rares are would be your best comparison for getting the Husk.

When i finally decided to farm for this, took me two attempts on fist of crota. Oh the agony. I was even more frustrated I had to do it once more to finish my bounty. Now to level up eris. Smh

I feel your pain. I've spent maybe 7 hours over the last the days and no husk. Just farming for husk. That's not counting strikes, etc. Now I have gotten some pretty awesome legendary gear over the last 3 days. It will drop when it drops. I haven't screen anyone in the last few days using it.

1 ReplyJust like every other reward/drop, it's a matter of luck. I am very unlucky, and I've gotten 2 in the the last week just doing the nightfall and the blade bounty.

4 RepliesDon't know... Most I heard of was 60 or so tries. Maybe there are hidden requirements? I got it this way: Fist of Crota Never got damaged by Blade Used Pulse grenade for shields Used Thorn 2.0 to kill Was wearing DLC Titan mark & emblem No wax idols Took 15 or so tries. Good luck!

I know others say it doesn't matter, but I have 2 of them. It was not until I equipped the Eris class item (warlock bond) and used black wax that I got both of them in about 5 minutes. It was odd. Probably didn't matter I did these things, but I did 8 or so Fist of Crota's (just first part to knight) and got the first. The second was from Earth patrol. Good Luck and keep trying. RNG is a funny thing and I have seen some get it on the first knight and others take 50-70 knights. By the way, I am level 31 so it is not related to your level either. Keep up the grind. I have been waiting for Suros, Ice Breaker, and Gally, but no luck there. We are all RNG cursed in some way.

It's because you want it. The same goes for exotics. Every time I've done a nightfall or something and I was really wanting or hoping for a drop, I got nothing. However when I just play for fun I get drops. Happened when I finally stopped trying for the vex and just ran it to help others. Same goes for the husk. I've gotten 2 now just running the kill blades bounty. TLDR: stop trying to get it and it'll drop for you

I got it the first time i did it with my titan lol i didn't even want it cause i already had it.

One day tried like 5 times, next day tried 3 times, yesterday tried one time and got it. Don't waste hours of your life farming it. You can't get that time back buddy.

It took me 2 or 3 hrs of farming to get it. I wouldn't recommend patrol, but keep farming the first DLC mission on earth with a YouTube video playing in the background. Watch it during the loading screen.

I farmed for 2 hours yesterday and 3 hours today trying to get it. My brother jumps in with me. He already had it. He gets 4 the first hour we are farming. And 3 more the next two hours. I finally rage quit.

I got mine after about 4 he's of running the Fist of Crota mission. Hang in there. The RNG gods will favor you soon.

Had a bounty for patrol missions on moon and killing blades of crota so I killed the first blade Husk of the pit Killed the second Husk of the pit Now I have three moral of the story I pretty damn lucky
