I haven't been reading the forums a lot lately because I'm busy playing Destiny. But I do come here from time to time to keep up to date with things. I just can't get away from the game. Like I've said, my home health situation allows me to play a LOT. However much my health and daily things allow me to. I don't have much to say about the engrams.
I play enough to tell when something's been changed. The game has a certain sensation or feel to it when I play. I like how the game plays and even though the problem (was it a problem? I still got some legendary items. I still don't mind the change, though. Good on Bungie to let more purple stuff happen! Can't argue with that!) with the engrams was happening, it didn't really bother me because most of the awesome stuff I was getting was earned by marks, rep rewards, etc... I just play Destiny and what happens, happens. I love the game and probably won't stop playing it for a looooooonnnnnnnnnggggg time. Reason being:
There's 5 areas of rep to get, 3 characters to rank to 30, VoG (which I'll get to one day. I'll do it-I'm on it-It'll happen-I'm havin' fun!), All the difficulty levels in story, Iron Banner coming up, Monthly things like the "Queens Emissary" that are probably going to keep changing things up, some content coming near the holidays, another entire world of death and destruction in the Multiplayer Arena, and the list could go on and on. With all that to do in the game to reward me, engrams (even though, yes, they can be in the form of a reward.) aren't the top thing on my priority list to earn.
Destiny is the most awesome game I've played. I love games that take a long time to play and require you to play a long time to do the bigger more awesome stuff. I have a LOT of time to spend because of my home-bound terminal situation . I've played games my entire life (I'm 37) and Destiny has become my favorite game. Some may have other views of their own and I respect that but I can honestly say this is the game I've been waiting for to happen that nobody had the resources to make. I'm the type of gamer who chooses a game and sticks to it for a while. If I have to find another game to get attached to, I play a ton of other games in between choosing another to fill my appetite. Destiny has been my latest choosing. About 10-16 hours a day! Haha!
Thank you, Bungie. And thank you Deej for the weekly update and all that you do to make sure we're as informed as much as you're allowed to tell us. Have a great day!
