PS4 exclusive in-game content... Really?
Okay, I'm sure you've all realized that the Playstation 4 is getting the better end of this deal in Destiny. With PS4 users getting extra time in the beta, which, me personally didn't really affect me all that much I was just excited I got to play the beta. But now to find out that there's exclusive IN-GAME content?! Bungie you mine as well punch me in the face and slap a Playstation sticker on my forehead. If you haven't already heard about this then let me throw it down like this. XBOX IS GETTING SCREWED. Playstation 4 users get the joy of playing the exclusive "Dust Palace" Strike mission. Which is supposed to be a great mission if you like loot. Because at the end of this mission is a vault called "Charlemagne's vault" which holds many treasures including the well known "Thorn" handcannon (http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Thorn) and you don't even know how much I want this gun. I've been wanting this since beta. BUT, it's exclusive to Playstation users. UNTIL FALL 2015. Yeah. Now I haven't been with Bungie since the beginning, seeing as how they were making games before I was even born, but I've been with them since Halo: CE was made and I've completed every inch of every Halo game out to date. And it's awesome that Bungie is finally making games for Playstation! It makes me happy that Playstation users can finally enjoy what Bungie develops. But, to me, it just feels like they're selling out right now. I mean if you look and search it, Sony is being complete dicks about this. They're basically taking the game and shoving it into Microsoft's face. Excuse me if I'm wrong but, when did Microsoft ever do this? Sony is taking this game way overboard, I mean so overboard that they're basically throwing every other Playstation game and having Destiny be their Christmas money this year. (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-09-09-sony-destiny-playstation-4) Now, I'm not gonna go too much deeper into this cause this is already long enough. But you get what I'm saying here. Sure, if you want the full Destiny experience, get the Destiny Playstation 4 bundle. Which I have to say tempts me cause it does look pretty badass. Or just get a PS4 and Destiny it'll save you money. Or, you can stand up to this load of garbage like me and back me up when I say, Bungie is making a mistake.

1 ReplyHey, remember when Xbox got CoD stuff a month early? I think it is far less concerning that Destiny is favouring PS4 with a small amount of ingame content than a full months headstart on each major DLC of the biggest gaming franchise at the time.

I didt see Xbox owners last gen bitch about how PS didt have the exclusives but they did a little too.often. I'm glad PS jumped on the band wagon and gave Xbox a taste of its own medicine.

The more I see these topics, the more I start to realise how much I LOVE having the exclusive content, even though it's not a big deal. Seriously, this is what happens when Microsoft drag up a generation of gamers and throw stuff at them. They turn into spoiled little brats who think they are entitled to everything. #getoverit

Microsoft bent Bungie over and had there merry way with them, now Bungie are activation and not MS Studios it's time for MS to pay the piper... I love Xbox and I love the new management team in Xbox division at MS but the old Management at MS took Bungie for a ride and now the new guard are paying for their BS If you wanted anything done about this you should have piped up when bungie were getting abused by MS not now that they are securing themselves as Independent. I'm gutted that the excl. deal is a whole 12 months but I fully respect Bungie for giving the big FU to MS for what they did

3 RepliesI was Xbox only until the new console releases. I never owned a Playstation. I started with Microsoft and never looked back. I loved all the exclusives I got and never thought about it. Oblivion, Skyrim, Call of Duty and so on. Man, looking back---- Playstation users really got the shaft last go round. Now Playstation gets the exclusives and now Microsoft fans are getting mad??? Give and take my friend. I'm fortunate I was on Xbox last go round cause I would've been pissed at getting left out ALL THE TIME like PS players did. If you are so mad then get a PS4 if you aren't willing to do that then deal with it. That's what PS3 ppl had to do for the better part of 5+ years.

However, for game exclusives in general, this is the reason why I completely hate console exclusives. I don't care if I'm on xbox or playstation, but if we're all obliged to pay up $60+ for a game; then we should all get the same service we paid for. If your going to give me less up front on whatever platform I'm buying the game for, I should have some type of non-exclusive discount, because now I'm paying for the full game and only receiving part of it. It seems a little bit jacked up when this guy paid $60 and so did the other, but for some reason someone has to get the short end of the stick. We can all say playstation missed out on a ton of exclusives last generation because of Microsoft, and now it's just them getting back at Microsoft for everything with the ps4. But it's not important that one console dominates or gets back at the other in the amount of games they can monopolize. It's ultimately about the gamer having the most fun playing a game. As a gamer it gets disheartening when you want something in a game and it simply can't be done due to issues like the limits of technology at the time or whatever other technical problem. It feels a thousand times worse and more frustrating when an eager gamer hears that the developer could give them this great game with all this content and cool stuff, but chooses not to because they rather sell out for some extra cash. Many times its just people's greed that holds us back from so many things... [spoiler] I may be wrong on this because I don't really look all that deep into how companies work out their exclusives; but couldn't it actually be a bad thing for your profit if someone pays you to withhold your product from a large customer base? You are guaranteed money from the company that paid you, but you lost a massive amount of customers you could of sold to. The customers that you acquire will be the ones to carry your business into the future, not exactly the deal you signed with Sony or Microsoft.[/spoiler]

Bungie isn't owned by Xbox. You aren't even a Bungie fan you are a Halo fan and Halo is still 100% exclusive to Xbox, and Destiny is also on Xbox. Stop complaining. You are in the wrong here.
