I am in shock right now over how fast i beat this game, start to finish, in the short amount of time i played it. What happened to the epic journey? A ten hour campaign at launch is the last thing i would expect from something as hyped as this.
*Since there is a large majority of people who can't comprehend this, i am only talking about the campaign.*

11 Replies>OP played on normal mode >OP thinks a 10 hour campaign when the average game barely reaches 6-7 is short >OP clearly expected, because of the hype, to spend from launch to the end of his life beating campaign >OP fell for the hype train

That's true, I guess.

Yes I told you about the Butthurt. Welcome to my pain. Bungievision sucks.

Short? You've been to Jupiter?!

Bungie has always stated that campaign is a tutorial. You have just started at 20.

Game begins at 20 bro

You didn't just purchase the campaign. There's a lot more out there. The campaign is the tutorial.
-
The story will be continued , the game will go on like 10 years now.

More stuff will be coming to entertain us(not DLC)

9 RepliesI played for 12 hours yesterday, hit level 20, and I haven't even finished Venus. I personally felt like there was so much to choose from that I didn't know where to start; especially once I hit 20.

Most of the games that has an pvp part on it dont even reach 10 hours campaign/ storyline, i do campaigns faster on other games then destiny, but im shocked at the fact that level 20 is max level + 10 light levels -.-' some friends are at level 28 so far and its only 2 days after the release.......

1 ReplyThe complete campaign, strikes, and raid is what I think represents the full campaign, which is of a pretty reasonable size for a fps.

As others have said you only best the story not Destiny. Destiny is much more than just the story. Also, Destiny is a shooter first. Shooters often have short stories, others have no story mode at all. That being said I would have liked some faction story missions to make joining a faction more important as well as learn the lore first hand from them.

10 hours is a standard story length. And you didn't BEAT Destiny, just the story. There are still plenty of things to do. And more than likely the expansions will more story missions.
-
Your "campaign" as you put it is the entire game, side missions, raids, patrols etc Why do you need to be told to do missions? The game isn't just the story, it's everything else as well. 80% of the game is making your own missions and objectives. Plus there will be PLENTY of DLCs to come so don't worry you little cookie cutter human

http://trib.al/Banku9P Ign article explains how it took them about 18 hours

Okay so, this is just a small glimpse into the Story line. Every few months we will be getting more of it with expansions. They want to have you dabble in a little of everything to get the full experience. They purposely made a campaign you couldn't just beat right away.

"sigh"... It seems a lot of people seem to be either forgetting that what the Dev said in that IGN first interview is that End-game is only the start of the journey! Or maybe others haven't watched it... If anyone knows DCUO will know the story is bland and boring as shit, and quite short too. The raids afterwards however, are very cool! DCUO seems very similar to Destiny in the regard that level 30 is only the start in DCUO, as from then your gear levels you up further past your core XP levels. Its all very similar, and in time when there is more raids and strikes, story missions and even planets through updates and DLC, this game will start to feel very awesome and very rewarding!

2 RepliesI felt like there were parts just left out, like how you only see the mysterious exo like 4 times and then all of a sudden you're best friends

3 RepliesFirst of all publishers and developers create hype for their games because they have shareholders to answer to. Every aaa title HAS to do that. Second as gamers we should know how the game works and should automatically dismiss the hype. If your the person that swallows hype them you get what you deserve. Bungie put out an alpha and a beta that gave everyone a taste of exactly what this game was about. That never stated this was the greatest game ever made. They said this was the biggest and most ambitious game they ever made. That is all. All the hype after that came from the media and fans. All that said yes this game appeals to the mmo gamer that expects a grind and many expansions. Expects to fight color palette shifted enemies and min max their stats and gear. This is a departure from anything bungie has done. Their intention is tell a story over ten years all the while providing us with many hours of gameplay and activities. I for one don't see where they have lied to me or mislead me. I fully intend to spend countless hours chasing down gear and beating challenges all the while dlc will appear giving me more to do. So this part of the story was beat in x hours so what! Have you run out of things to do? No? Then what the hell do you have to complain about
