I was just wondering if I'm the oldest Destiny player... How old are you? (ok...I'm 51)
Just curious to confirm it. I still play with my son ! (26): All Halo games (CE, 3, 4, ODST, Reach) Battefield 4, Crysis 3 - Xbox 360 . And I'll play as long as I can see the TV screen.
[b]Updating - 09/29/14[/b]: After 20 days playing Destiny at evenings + a couple of hours on weekends, I achieved level 27 yesterday night with my hunter char \o/ !! (My son is level 25 hahaha lol !!!! Cry baby, cry!! )
[b]Updating - 10/25/14:[/b] After 45 days playing Destiny (3 hours per day + 5 on Sat and Sunday) I'm level 29 now. I went three times to the VoG Raid and I do not have my armour completed yet :-/ ( ... Tired...) I bought some exotics weapons from Xûr (Ice Breaker sniper and Suros Regime rifle...) and have gained a lot of legendary weapons as well. My son is behind me: level 28 \o/ hahaha. Lets see the DLCs .
(I'm thinking about to write a book about the history / stories that you told in this post...they are amazing ! Thanks guys for share a small part of your life!)

I'm 24, my dad is 56 and he still plays video games, he likes to play age of empires, civilization and other building games like those. He is also a beast at super smash brothers on the n64. I made the mistake of leaving the n64 there when i moved out... now he mops the floor with me whenever i visit and he won't let me leave until he's retained his "world champion title" he also forces my step mom to play against him as practice for our next battle.

Is age a real big issue for the community?As long as your I'd say the teen age of about 16 and above then it shouldn't be much of a problem. I mean as we were all teenagers once. We need to keep the community alive Young blood will be all we have left one day.

1 ReplyMy dad is in his late 50s and he plays games all the time. We started on the PS1 and he showed me how to Spyro when I was 8 then Hot Wheels and Armored Core. Now I show him how to play and ever since I was 10 he would by games in pairs so we could both play.

3 Replies32 been gaming since I was about 8. Commodore 64 popped my cherry and haven't looked back since. I play destiny all the trucking time. Taken days off and all sorts. But it's tricksy to find groups. My only Xbox friends are my bros *sniff* and whilst they play when they can they're only like lvl 16 so I'm finding myself, at lvl 26, just twiddling my thumbs and bossing the various strikes and pvp. I love gaming. It's my escapism from all else.

44 here, I suck at it but love it all the same, popped my cherry on a ZX Spectrum and 30 minutes to load a game which more often than not would crash. I also suffered the indignity of my dad buying me the 16k version and my mates had the 28k lol I mean 28k of memory. Calculators surely have more.

3 RepliesAnother 51 year old here. (1963 must have been a "classic" year!) Have been playing computer games since the early days. Worked for Amstrad for 25 years and was involved in the design of 464/664/6128 home computers. Even wrote part of the Sinclair Spectrum firmware ;-) I have one of almost every console developed in the last 25 years and have played pretty much every top 50 list on metacritic. Just a level 25 Warlock on Destiny so far though.
