There are approximately over 7,168,366,600 (and counting) people in the world. How is that not overpopulated?

Fun Fact: You could fit the entire Earths population in Texas, comfortably. With the way neighborhoods and land is set up, it's no surprise that people over exaggerate on the worlds population and blow it completely out of proportion.
-
That is a fun fact!

The surface area that human beings cover has nothing to do with the resources consumed.
-
If he was talking surface area, he would have said Rhose Island, and that is with like 3 square feet per person.
-
I can understand resources like fossil fuels and the like. But as far as food, goes, we're all set as long as there is still some people part of the 7 billion that want to farm.
-
Each american needs 8 global hectares (+/- 800000 square feet) of land per person to provide for food, energy, housing and services while the world capacity is 1.8 global hectares per person. ( the global average is 2,7 global hectares per person) This means that we're using more resources than there can be created by natural processes. We're basically using all the reserves that have accumulated over time. We probably won't encounter a Malthusian catastrophe in the next few years, but it's inevitable if we keep consuming more resources per capita.
-
And plus there's always alternatives to fossil fuels.
-
Yeah, I'm sure we will be independent of fossil fuels in the coming decades with the rate technology passes now.
