I'm genuinely curious as to why anyone is doing this? I inspect people who I believe are cheating in PvP all the time and I'm seeing this odd behavior all the time. People rocking 3 of one armor set, an exotic, and then 1 of another armor set or I'll see them using 1 of a bunch of different armor sets or maybe they only have 2 of 1 armor set giving them active perks but the rest is a mix of armor with no effects available.
I personally think this is just people blatantly cheating and using this as a weird flex.

I mean i have some sets but overall… they seem meaningless and just there I mean let’s talk about ferropotent that gives you resist… after taking damage or sword master which only works for swords, the renegade armour is a bit more unique working of all heat weapons and buffing them with the skewed and the Shewed and thriving being the main too and the thriving being only a little bit more worth it cause it boosts the grenade stat The Suros one has never been interesting to me in pve and the same goes for the trials one as I really haven’t been needing it The sage protector one looked interesting but it’s then a question of whether to put it with sword master or go all in and that is just a confused question since titans get the most out of it thanks to strong holds

You don't really need to run a full armour set unless your doing something like a day 1 race otherwise the game is easy enough with a good build and team coordination

Edited by TheLastBlackKnight: 2/15/2026 5:42:08 PMThis is a joke right? You…think people are cheating because they don’t care about a set bonus? Holy -blam!- this is the sort of reason why Bungie don’t take their players reports seriously. Your build is also god awful, you shouldn’t be judging anybody else.
-
Holy cow, you go straight to ignore, thanks for exposing and sparing me of your future nonesne.
-
I dont care much for the set bonuses, just the stats of it
-
7 RepliesYoure thinking too hard. Most people don't care about the added perk, they care more about overall stats or a lot don't even care about those either.
-
Lots of players don't see / get any value out of the armor sets so they just go for stats instead
-
3 RepliesThe set bonuses are -blam!-. Rather have 4 100s than 2 and a stat bonus
-
Maybe because only a few armor set bonuses are worth to chase plus let's say a full sword master set not going to beat 200 stat on greande in PvE or some set bonuses just pointless for example disaster corps set that's literally a worse heal clip What about PvP since you mentioned it in the first place? Well most set bonuses better for PvE so it's kinda pointless to get a full set for PvP Btw saying not running armor set with full bonuses=cheating is makes no because if someone using aimbot for example they wouldn’t care about whether they have 4 piece set bonus or 2
-
I could care less about armor exclusive bonuses man. All my gear is random but has high stats, that’s all I care about in PvP.
-
Depends if you prefer the set bonus to the stat distribution. No hard and fast rule says you should have set bonuses. In fact in PvP some people still rock old gear with artifice slot and flat distribution.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
There’s one particular setup with 4 ‘seemingly random’ armour pieces that gives wall hacks. infinite special ammo and 5x damage resistance. Obviously I’m not going to say what any of them are but you’ll never take them off if you ever stumble onto it. -
Because stats are so much more important than armor set bonuses even some really good bonuses get canceled out by X or Y so players are making the easy choice not to chase this latest version of fomo. Just a thought.
-
I think some people just don’t care. They want the best stats and don’t rate the set bonuses. I disagree with this approach but I don’t think they are cheating or flexing.
-
You're stacking health and weapons and using double primary. I sincerely hope this is a "should I be using set bonuses over stats" question and not a jab at people not using set bonuses that have better stats than you.
-
1 ReplyMost PvP players care more about the stat split than the armor set. Many PvP only players dont play so much PvE, or have not grinded for the armor. I know a lot of really good PvP players who dont have good set bonuses because they are F2P and couldnt be bothered to grind for sets. They just look for the stats.
-
Probably don't have the right rolls on the matching armor sets. Farming armor is such a pain that I'll prioritize the stat spread over a set bonus unless the bonus is really good.
