The Trials Changes
Bungie changed Trials, so it doesn't matter if you win, you still get great drops ... so, everyone just sprints to their deaths, jumps off the map, fiddles around in their menus, etc.

Actually no. If you just all cliff jump you don’t get rewards. You need to actively participate even if you get destroyed

Tiers are still dependent on score. The dudes jumping off the map getting no damage or assists are not getting the B+ and above to drop tier fives. It’s even possible to get zero loot other than dawning essence from dropping donuts, at least in the lighthouse pool. It sucks to have teammates throwing, but people jumping off the map, going afk, or just quitting after the protection timer have been around throughout the entire five years I’ve engaged with trials. Making loot more accessible didn’t spark a new issue, and making loot less accessible again will just pull people out of the playlist. Rather than taking anything away I’d prefer to see Bungie add more incentive to 5+ streaks by adding unique origin traits to drops from the lighthouse, making tier fives from the lighthouse come with the shiny gold shader the old memento applied, and mostly cracking down on cheating to improve trials (looking at you Windows).

1 ReplyI see no problem. It’s a win win. I win, I get loot; I lose I get loot. The game mode has the lowest population ever. They are trying to make people play. If they remove loot, people won’t play. If you are worried about people jumping off the map, just get a fireteam. Problem solved. And remember, it’s just a game.

I played a few matches over the weekend and thankfully didn’t experience that. That blows though. Why waste other peoples’ time, let alone your own?

I think its a good decision, they just cant get the ship, sparrow, emblem, title-seems fair to me, if they didnt drop tier 5 then the idea wouldnt work

Give more unique cosmetics for high-end PVP and PVE activities... Gear should not be so hard to obtain. I personally don't want to sit 8 hours in a Raid, and I know lots don't want to play Trials for long

1 ReplyMiss when this community wasn’t full of entitled children who cried when not getting adepts for their negative KD gameplay, because this is what we ended up with. Tier 5’s for everyone, adepts don’t even exist anymore, and going flawless is not only pointless, but also nearly impossible because 90% of the good players don’t play pvp anymore, meaning you’re guaranteed to get matchmade with shitters on your team who hold you back

Indeed. It's worse than a participation trophy. The entire identity has been lost to this new loot system. To incentivize the weakest amongst the Guardians to populate the space, they destroyed the purpose and spirit of the mode. Now it's just another Crucible game mode. Goldleaf over plaster. You can stand around. Lose. Do nothing and get the gear.

Well there's two reasons for that people jump off the map because the team just sucks and there's no point in continuing on but yeah I strongly agree they need to go back to the old system awards at 3,5,and flawless too many people that aren't really that good are just getting rewarded just for loading in.

lol if i get easy wins or quick games because people want to jump off the map or just stand there, then I have no issues with it. Bungie dont care about pvp so why should others
