If you dont enjoy it, thats on you. Your misery and entitlment are your own, and no matter what I say will pull you out of it.
Doesnt mean others dont enjoy it, and them enjoying it is their own.
You can either be miserable and post negative comments your whole life or try and find a fragment of happiness in your life and play the game.
Im assuming the choice was already made by you.

Edited by Howiepenguin: 12/21/2025 1:32:51 PMLol. You think me pointing out the fact that you are justifying sunk cost fallacy is being negative? Sure, OK. I'll let you believe that. Just one more point before I go. You sound just like me when I was deep in WoW back in 2004. Stop trying to justify what you sink your money into, and stop trying to push that justification onto other people. Stay positive.

You missed the point of my post. $40 into a game when compared to the time played is not a significant amount. $40 into a video game is not an investment. Its entertainment. Its not $40 of shares so you own a piece of Bungie. When a player goes on forums and demands change, demands answers on when their change will happen, and demands to know whats going to launch in the future, thats pure entitlement bud. $40 barely pays for an hour of dev time, yet every disappointed/unhappy player expects Bungie to drop everything to answer to them, change everything at the drop of a hat. Entitlement. I know $40 is worth very little (Hense the comparisons in my first post), and what Ive gotten out of the game is worth it. The negative remark was about the last half of your post. There was nothing positive from what you said about Bungie was there? From those comments, you might just fit into the part of the community mentioned above. Stay Positive.

Edited by Howiepenguin: 12/21/2025 1:15:42 PMYou're breaking down how much money versus time someone puts into the game. That is the sunk cost fallacy argument. You then try to belittle their opinion as a result calling it entitlement. This is why I say stop using that justification and pushing it onto others. Edit: You're using the argument in an odd way here which is why you may be getting some dissonance from what I'm saying but you are definitely using the sunk cost fallacy argument. It's just in reverse with you then criticizing them for it.

You don't really know what "sunk cost fallacy" means, do you?

Keep rambling ramblin billy.

Sunk Cost Fallacy is when people continue to dig in even though they are miserable doing it, because they dumped so much time and money into it. Not even close to my statement. Im not miserable, nor do I continue to force myself to play because Ive sunk money into it. Complete opposite in fact. I know the money was spent as entertainment, and know theres zero value aside from that entertainment. To add, I did not belittle, and the entitlement comment was the reply to your post. Its 100% accurate, there are players in this community that are entitled. Now for any players who have the sunk cost fallacy, my suggestion would be to walk away from anything that makes you miserable, and find something that makes you happy and content. If your happiness is commenting on a forum for a game you hate and dont play anymore, then all the power to ya.

Edited by Howiepenguin: 12/21/2025 2:31:26 PMAh the justifications, like a warm shower after working outside in the hot humid air, feels kinda cool. A lot to unpack here so let's get started:
Sunk Cost Fallacy is when people continue to dig in even though they are miserable doing it, because they dumped so much time and money into it.
That's why I said you are using it in an odd almost reverse kind of way.
Not even close to my statement. Im not miserable, nor do I continue to force myself to play because Ive sunk money into it.
I never said you're miserable. You're using something you said to say I said you were miserable. You don't have to be miserable in sunk cost fallacies. Putting words in mouths much?
Complete opposite in fact. I know the money was spent as entertainment, and know theres zero value aside from that entertainment.
Sounds like justification to me.
To add, I did not belittle, and the entitlement comment was the reply to your post. Its 100% accurate, there are players in this community that are entitled.
You're sounding like you're entitled to belittle these people's opinions on a feedback forum now, bud.
Now for any players who have the sunk cost fallacy, my suggestion would be to walk away from anything that makes you miserable, and find something that makes you happy and content. If your happiness is commenting on a forum for a game you hate and dont play anymore, then all the power to ya.
Now this is interesting here. first it comes off as if you're telling them to eff off. Basically, don't let the company providing a service they paid for, to not leave a remark letting them know why they are leaving or hate the game as it is. This screams, "I only wana see what's positive in a feedback forum" ie: toxic positivity. The later half is well, odd, almost as if you're trying to be sarcastic toward me.
