After seeing the speculation about Destiny 3 it makes me sad. I don't want a Destiny 3 I just want the Destiny universe to keep expanding and to become bigger and better. Don't take away content, no need for a new game. I don't want to lose my
Guardian, I don't want
To have to have 3 games to experience everything in Destiny. I want it to be an ever expanding game. It's all choose your own fate, that's the fate I want. I don't want it to go the way of the dodo. I'm just getting back into it and the concept of a destiny 3 makes me so very sad. I don't want to lose the characters, I don't want to lose the environment. You've built something amazing. Don't destroy it. Hunters and warlocks and titans are the core of what Destiny is. The races, the classes, the separation is what makes it what it is. Don't ruin it I beg you please don't ruin it.

I’d like a D3, but only if it’s significantly different to D1/D2. Different part of the universe, different time period, different weapons and abilities, different enemies, etc.

Not only does this come with issues in the game, but being old deters new players from joining. A new game would be significantly easier to draw in new players.

Problem is the engine is so strained at this point they can't keep adding to it without the game falling apart soon. It would suck to start over but if they could just port everything forward and maybe do legacy packs that can be installed enjoyed then removed at will by the player to hit that old content that would be great but the game can't continue with the engine we have.
-
The game engine is showing its age, and it’s getting too big to run on consoles in the way the networking and engine function. TLDR: the best way for the universe to continue to grow is to put this decades old Tiger engine out to pasture.
-
Imagine if bungie cared. They could bring your character into the new game. They won't though cause they just want money for the least amount of creativity and effort.
-
I'd rather have a D3. We can get a new engine. There will be less old content bloating the game. We can get a graphic update to something grittier.
-
As much as I’ve enjoyed the 10 years journey story 👍 there’s no way I’d consider d3 thankyou BUT no😳
-
My concern with D3 is starting over and being sold the same stuff potentially a third time. Like if everything we have transfers over, sure I’m game. I don’t want to have a barebones game with like 5 exotic weapons and 3 exotic armors. D1 to D2 was not the answer. Starting over sucked hardcore. I think bungie will lose a lot of people in doing this. We almost have too much to start over just loot wise. Then think about what they’re doing to build this game up. If D3 were a thing, I don’t think they’d add a fireteam finder or something revolutionary like Prismatic or even darkness subclasses in general or exotic class items. Those are all D3 worthy changes.
-
Can you imagine modern Bungie trying to build a new Destiny with lots of coherent destinations and a proper, full campaign? Lol
-
I can confirm that Destiny 3 is on the same development schedule as Half Life 3.
-
If they could burn down this whole terrible ability-skeleton they find themselves draping dresses over to create an illusion of awesomeness and build something that actually has a viable foundation where abilities don't give such a boring and direct yield that it becomes problematic to work around... I'm all for it. For my money, what Bungie has in Destiny 2 is problematic to the core, and if it takes a Destiny 3 to move away from that then I'm in. The lore, the characters, those types of things aren't stuck to Destiny 2. The gear is pretty irrelevant, part of a loot game is to get new stuff to chase either way, I wouldn't even have a problem with a full mass item deletion tomorrow.
-
All the speculation is just internet rumour mill without a shred of real evidence so I wouldn’t really worry about it
-
I'd rather not have D3. The idea of reearning all the gear from D1 and D2 again along with the D3 gear would make me not buy the game.
-
This is satire right? They will have to keep removing content if they don’t make a sequel title. 🤦
-
The game can't keep going on until the end of time. Sooner or later there will either be to much in the game to the point that it turns in a multi hundred gigabyte game that will take up way to much storage on either console or PC to bother keeping it installed. Also them creating a D3 will most likely happen at some point, not only to have it made on a newer engine but to also as I would assume start a new saga of destiny hopefully outside of our solar system.
-
Bungie shouldn't ever make a game again until they can have dedicated servers and on a better game engine. They probably still hosting the old halo servers at the same time on their windows 97 computer from 98.
-
With how buggy spaghetti the current game is, they'd basically need to re-do whole base to fix the problems. And at that point it'd make more sense to just make new game to begin with.
-
There is no D3 There is a D2 expansion called "Frontiers" in the works , coming out sometime after episode 3 So it's likely they decided just to expand D2 instead of a sequel
-
Imagine a Destiny prequel, would be cool imo
-
Trust me when I say… regardless of what they have planned it will not make financial sense when they look at the player count after episodes. Haha this game is going to fall like a rock post FS
