title.
The best players get easy cards farming solo's and everyone else just has to put up with spending hours grinding and praying

2 RepliesThat's because the best players earned their skill and should have an easier time when playing the average player. What is the point of improving if I will always match ppl same skill as me. Let's say you are in the 1 % skill of players u will only match within 1%. Meanwhile you are in the 50% having a huge pool compared to mine. They tried what you suggested before multiple times. The problem is ppl like you don't play trials or pvp much anyway and it makes the ppl that love pvp suffer way too much. Bungie is making pvp for ppl that enjoy pvp, as they should.

3 RepliesEdited by ㅤ Avvor: 6/17/2024 11:03:44 PMit takes literally anyone with half a brain 5 seconds to think of 2 reasons sbmm dosernt work in trials - player pool -investment to reward ratio

Edited by Golden: 6/20/2024 12:19:05 AMThere’s just not enough players active in trials to support SBMM, would be cool though. But without enough players in the same skill range, the matchmaking is just gonna throw random players into either higher or low skilled matches to fill those gaps, causing even more unbalance. It’s already a mess, it’d be an even bigger mess.
-
You do know that since it’s connection based it means it’s random right? If you lose consistently it’s because you’re overall bad,if you win consistently it means you’re overall good. If it was skill based bad players would play against bad players all the time so it would be 50/50 and same would happen to good players,so why even improve? Just get better at the game.
-
Sbmm would not work in trials lol. I don’t really see how people don’t understand this yet.
-
If you have to grind hours as a solo it wasn’t meant to be

8 RepliesEdited by Paul5013: 6/16/2024 10:53:22 PMBecause a reward structure based on win streaks would work with matchmaking pushing you towards a 50% winrate? How do people not get this?
-
3 Repliesproblem is its no longer card based, and that doesn't work because the game mode is -blam!- dead. card based was superior.
-
1 ReplyTrials should stay a tourney type gamemode. Adding in skill based matchmaking ruins the sanctity of such a mode. I think Flawless pool matchmaking is a good middle ground.
-
5 RepliesJust saying skill based match making only helps the 1% at the bottom of the bracket if you think that's something that's going to help you I hate to say it but you are in that 1%
-
“Trials not matchmaking on skill is such an L” It seems you and trials have something in common
-
7 RepliesThere’s sbmm in trials in the practice pool if I remember correctly. Play in the practice pool and forget about adepts if you want sbmm. Honestly, adding sbmm to the challenger pool would NOT convince me to play trials.

title. The best players get easy cards farming solo's and everyone else just has to put up with spending hours grinding and praying
Yeah that’s how trials is suppose to be. It’s a display of skill. The better you are, the easier it is to go flawless.

If you want the same rewards as everyone else you're going to have to play the same people as everyone else.
-
Feel this but bungie won’t do anything. Just gotta keep practicing and hope you get lucky with matchmaking. Good luck out there it is sweaty this weekend.

Agree sbmm os definitely needed

Edited by Zodleon: 6/16/2024 1:05:14 PMSkillbased matchmaking is fundamentally incompatible with trials. In a situation where skill based matchmaking made the matches theoretically 50/50 the chances of going flawless with 2 mercys would be about 9% and the chances of going flawless on any other card would be 0.78%. If you want sbmm in trials, then you at a base level, don't want to play trials. Because they would have to change trials entire structure to accommodate it. Play competitive, that is the mode you want. Trials is endgame pvp. It is the playlist that is based on equality. Everyone has an equal environment and matchmaking to participate in, with the X factor being whatever knowledge and skill they can bring, you against the entire pool of players. Eyes up, have fun, and get gud guardian. 💪👍
