First, the weapon is the highest damaging GL as others have said (downside is its not exactly easy to get its max efficiency) Second, there is a skill gap with the gun as well as it being limited in the content its useful in (floating bosses and small bosses make it useless) Finally, the gun itself only exists to complete a triumph (i believe its a triumph. You use it to shoot the darkness splinters on Europa)

I think it does acceptable damage while bringing decent utility in being a crystal generator (which can be used for traversal, stasis shards (melee regen), stasis overshields and healing, grenade regeneration, damage resistance, and area denial). It could use a bit more something but I think, while the gun is incredibly niche, it has some things going for it. It’s identity, I feel, should not be to do a ton of damage necessarily but it should really lean into being a utility weapon with more ammo and some added function to what it has now, while still being able to do lots of damage to specific targets like bosses that consistently auto-shatter all crystals. I doubt many players will use it this way, but the weapon will be much more unique and skilled players will find clever ways to use it. Not everything has to do insane DPS to be useful. I think Stasis being as “weak” as it is right now is the major thing holding back this weapon’s use, as it demands you run the subclass to get the best value out of it.

If used right, it outputs more damage than Glacial quake. It's extremely difficult to use, however, and is very position/timing reliant.

Its already the highest damage GL.

The one that shoots crystals? It can give you cover, freeze enemies, let’s you benefit from some stasis fragments. Not every weapon is supposed to be a strong choice for boss dps my guy
