Why is it that when you win you only get a few points but when you lose they take away triple what you earned.

Edited by NotCreative123: 9/29/2023 2:50:25 PMYour hidden "skill" stat basically determines your Comp Ranking. "Skill" is Bungie's measure of your effectiveness as a player. It is the same thing that is used when matchmaking with SBMM enabled. Your point gains and the formulas that govern those point gains try to ensure that Comp Rank and "skill" are linearly related. In other words, if you have a high "skill", Bungie's formula will ensure you have a high Comp Rank. If you have a low "skill", the formula makes sure you have a low Comp Rank. It is easy to change "skill" when there isn't much data available and difficult when there is a lot of data. In other words, as you play more, Bungie becomes more confident in your "skill" estimate.

You have a predetermined rank and the points system is designed to get you to it and then keep you there. I’m guessing you’re slightly above your predetermined rank.

10 RepliesYou are ascendant with „only“ a 1.23 kd. You‘ve probably used the comp point glitch and the system thinks you shouldn’t be there so it tries to pull you down where the algorithm thinks where you are supposed to be.
