Stasis and Strand being so stale

I’m a semi-new player and I’ve been playing for like 3 months now so take it easy on me and I got a question. Why isn’t the darkness subclasses like STASIS and Strand aren't being built upon like the light subclasses like Arc, Solar, and Void 3.0 despite us having Stasis for almost 3 years now? Despite each light subclass having at least a super for D.P.S, team support, or roaming supers for ad control I feel like the idea of only one super for the darkness subclass is appalling and lackluster tho I understand that Stasis has caused a lot of havoc in PvP (*cough* warlocks and titans 👀) personally the darkness subclasses in PvE are so power crept it's in the mud at this point if I am a warlock and I want ad control I'll put on Solar; Sun Bracers and Incinerators Snap done and dusted, If I want team support Well of Radiance done, everyone in the fire team is happy, I want solo survivability, Cold Heart trace rifle + Fallen Sunstar or Vesper of Radiance, case closed and maybe if I want to enjoy my Graviton Lance pulse rifle and destabilizing rounds build I’ll pick up my Void loadout and have fun and watch everything in sight get destroyed with Void debuffs. In no way does Stasis and Strand have a single chance of keeping up with this I’m not a game developer and I don't know if the devs are working on it or not but please just give these subclasses more versatility. It's way overdue :(, much love.

  • Because Stasis and Strand already ARE designed that way. The revamping of the Light Subclasses was done to make them play more like Stasis

  • Really gonna call out Behemoth and Shadebinder like Revenant didn't own crucible for an entire year?

Stasis and now Strand seem to be more marketing materials to sell expansions than anything else. If nothing else though I am glad Stasis paved the way for the Light subclasses to evolve and become as powerful as they are right now.

Strand is, arguably, one of the best subclasses to run in endgame PvE content (raids, dungeons, GMs). Suspend, for the time being, is unbelievably strong and builds can keep enemies in the air for nearly entire engagements, making some of the most challenging encounters trivial. Stasis, although not the powerhouse it once was, is still viable in endgame PvE content, but I will state that the build has to be right. If the build is right, some of the most amazing DPS and add-controlling features are brightly highlighted.

        • I don't know. I run Stasis warlock on a turret build everywhere including Comp and GMs.

        • Depends on the activity. In a GM like Glassway or Lightblade, even Psiops moon, stasis and strand are great, better than any solar warlock I’d say.

          • Stasis aside from titan natural game is fine as is, I'm surprised people don't know how to properly optimize whisper of impetus to rank up damage. Strand(I'm going to talk from a warlock standpoint) the only thing I like on this is the super and melee. When I heard it was going to be a summoner class I was curious but quickly disappointed.

            • The underlying cause is that they're both locked behind a paywall, so any changes they make will only affect players that own them. It might seem like most people do, but none of us actually have the numbers to say that for sure. As Stasis has already wreaked havoc on PvP once before, and Strand has been the one-size-fits-all solution to PvE, they don't want to buff them so that they are the absolute best because that comes across as pay-to-win. Personally, I think it's wrong for us to hold things like Sunbracers Warlock as the standard - if everything was at that level, then the game would lose all semblance of difficulty. It's not the flashiest, but Stasis Turret spam is still one of the best builds in the game for hard content. It remains to be seen how Strand copes with the nerfs and what the new Aspects bring next season, but it is absolutely viable in all activities. Moreover, I get bored with every subclass regularly. After 2-3 weeks of using a build, even if it's really powerful, I feel the need to move on to something else. Using the same loadout for all activities for all of time, until some stronger comes along, doesn't sit right with me.

              • Stasis Hunter is the highest DPS output if you know how to combo. Strand warlock also the highest DPS if you combo right. Just because they are not one shot supers, does not mean they are weak. Learn to build.

                • They both have great strengths far from the weakest on every class.
