"Contacting destiny servers" pop ups x100 now. Lag in abundance in pvp. Ppl with 540 pulserifles shooting at the cadance of a 120 scoutrifle. Ppl ghostig around the corners and ghost hit registration. Did you turn off Destiny2? What are you doing back there?
Oh wait, keep doing what you're doing, not answering the community, while you're laying the final touch on Marathon.
D2 is rotting down here.

Bungie slowly stopped caring about Destiny as a whole as the time got closer and closer to the announcement of marathon. Once it was announced Bungie just stopped caring all together and it shows in Destiny with all of the server issues and random price increases of everything, which It feels like they did because they wanted to get as much money as possible to hold over until marathon drops. Honestly will give marathon a try if it’s free to play but if i need to buy it then I already know everything is going to be on the cash shop for insane prices and Bungie will stop caring about it once people see that it’s shallow unless you drop like $3000 for the “full” experience, Count me out Sorry, I’m just not happy with what Bungie is doing and have just been upset venting in the forums. It sucks 😕

>lag abundance in pvp >d2 is rotting here welcome to bungo

Personally I don't care about marathon because of destiny 2 and bungie just throws it away, they didn't do that with D1 so why do it for D2, just to hype up a game I don't care about
-
2 RepliesCareful, you might get banned by the comments police for criticizing Bungie.

We’re all being thrown away like last week’s garbage
-
Hey, just wait until Bungie gives people who preorder Marathon the most broken exotic to ever exist. Only way to get it will be to buy Marathon. I can feel it deep in my bones
-
You say it like they ever had support for their servers. They’re all too busy sitting around with their heads so far up their asses all they see is the abyss. Bungie is the most brain dead, -blam!- backwards group out there. These idiots couldn’t tell their -blam!- from a hole in the ground, much less figure out how to maintain at least semi-decent servers.

2 RepliesThey need to nerf how many people can be in the tower, like ever since they increased the amount half the time I'm either waiting forever to land (sometimes i never do even after waiting a long time) OR getting contacting servers Only way around it is to turn off crossplay, you then load into the tower in mere seconds .. Because? Nobody there except you and maybe 1 to 5 players on same platform as you Do they test their game? Because sure doesn't look like it. This is the same reason why swapping gear, inspecting stuff etc lags hardcore when stuff is happening around you (guns shooting, nades being thrown etc in an activity) or loading said activity. Peer2peer is an old antiquated way of networking and no amount of polishing by bungie will fix it, it's 2023 and we're still playing a game that's using a networking model that's as old as Halo 2's p2p networking way of doing things, only difference now is that now bungie also has servers hosting our player data so it needs to constantly sync that too hence laaaaag

Seriously, thought it was me 🤣 Servers have been terrible the past few days

2 RepliesWait ppl still play D2?
🤣🤣🤣
Bungie put too many bots on obtaining fake Marathon views and broke their servers lol
-
This company probably want the gaming industry to know that they are still in the game by announcing to the world that they have a new game coming out while in the meantime their only running and existing game D2 is on fire in the dumpster! 🤣 This game is so barren and broken, and yet they have the audacity to announce that they are coming out with a new game with better servers. 🤣 What a joke! It’s laughable beyond comedy! 🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!🤣

13 RepliesEdited by CrimzonReaper: 6/25/2023 10:57:41 PMI think it’s cute how they abandoned their PvP community yrs ago, yet they’re hoping to get them playing Marathon. Marathon kinda sounds to me like Gambit on a patrol zone size map, umm no thanks.

2 RepliesIt’s there game. They can do what they want with it.

Edited by Magiscene: 6/26/2023 6:46:14 PMI’ve heard rumors (so take with a grain of salt) that it’s a staffing issue. They can’t keep people on the infrastructure team or find anyone willing to work on their servers because they offer well below the infrastructure architect/engineer industry’s standard pay rates for that position. If true I understand why people aren’t wanting to work on Bungie’s infrastructure team as they aren’t getting the industry standard and have to work on call year round. Not really a fair trade off imo for the workers whose job is to keep the game running 365/24/7.

Give them a week and see it they tell us something on wtf is going on. If no feedback,i guess we can say its no more hope for this game. Becus there must be something going on over there they are not telling us,the annoying thing is the silence they give us.
-
Well there is a bungie person running around tagging people just to let you and everyone else no that it's your internet well I just had comcast out and they tested everything and what I was told is that couph couph bungies error code is actually letting you know hey its not your internet it's our cough cough game!!

Edited by Cervantes: 6/26/2023 1:18:20 PMIt is clear Bungie is winding down operations and has been for at least a year now. The last good expansion we got was Witch Queen and it is the last good expansion we will get for this game. From here on out, Bungie will look to maintain Destiny 2 whilst cranking up prices for expansions and silver. Meanwhile, the team working on Marathon fires on all cylinders to ensure a successful launch.

Have you read this? https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/263021072/0/0/1 It would help if you post in the relevant thread under networking.

While the lack of communication about it is deafening

Are they running on windows as their servers are pants? My internet is great BT FTTP, then gigabit to ps4.

12 RepliesYou know what I just realized? Marathon could be the first videogame in the Olympics. Right up there with ribbon on a stick and extreme ball bouncing.
