Go on Bungie, feel free to "Keep your Heads Down"
Honestly, this company is just so -blam!- awful to the Destiny fan base.
For YEARS youve been taking our money and throwing most of it at other games? And then you proudly tell me that after a bunch of abysmal failures, it's going to be worse.
Because you're going to keep your heads down working on Marathon.
Not a dime of my money will ever go to Bungie outside of Destiny again. I will also not be preordering Final Shape. 100% not giving them another $100+ for an unfinished product when I know none of that money will be used on the product I'm buying.
It's normal for a company to use their breadwinner to fund other projects.
It is NOT normal for a company to leave 5 people to work on that bread winner so they can throw 90% of their resources at something that hasn't made them a penny. All the while boldy lying through their teeth about wanting to do better
Look at the job postings available for destiny. I'm pretty sure the team is down to 3 skin walkers and 2 hamsters on a wheel.
At this point, we know Bungie does not care about the Destiny player base and they will say ANYTHING (Including bringing back Fillion!) To get us to preorder Final Shape.
Do you know why? It's simple
If you don't preorder, then Bungie actually has to make a product before making profit.
If you preorder, they can stop caring as soon as they've sold enough deluxe preorders.
I mean really, that TWAB was a slap in the face, I'm honestly offended that Bungie would happily admit that years worth of unacceptable inadequacy was intentional because they took all of the money we paid that was supposed to be for destiny and threw it into something else. Not ok. My money will stay firmly in my bank account until Final Shape is released.
If D2 had been well managed and properly staffed, I wouldn't care about any of this. But that hasn't been the case for many years. Being told you're happy to keep your heads down on Marathon is just insulting.
You should be keeping your heads down because of the massive shame you should all be feeling at Bungo HQ

We honestly should all start a class action lawsuit against Bungie for defective product. How many times have you been booted because of their servers and a shitty broken game? This is real. If I had a car get me into a wreck because it was defective I would sue. Maybe they need to be sued to pull their heads out of their butts.

Bravo my friend. I could not have said better myself. Total Truth Bomb. I took a 2 year break. Back last October. Started to main warlock. Got my Kd to a shade over even. My Solar build was based around Starfire. Bungie then nerfed Warlock into 19th century. 6 Months of work shot to Sh-t. Now I Remember Why I Left. Because some snot nose kid at Bungie decided he Hates Warlocks that day. It’s Like a 5 year old is running Bungie. They run more players off than they gain because they never learn. If I continue I Will Never Preorder ever again.

while i am excited about a new bungie game, it is a bit annoying knowing the game we enjoy is getting second hand treatment. What has happened with the crucible (or lack of what has happend) all makes sense now that they took the best PvP devs to work on marathon and let D2 pvp out to dry

One thing I've learned by pre-ordering Lightfall is that I won't pre-order TFS. It would be an insult to myself.

Yep what you have said has been said a thousand times over ….it will never change because people will keep spending , especially in ever verse. There’s two years left of destiny2 so a lot of people will be invested till the end . Major billion dollar are taking advantage but we enable them.

I’m with ya man to many times have I preordered the next dlc etc only to be let down again and again…… I have only myself to blame I must be a sucker for punishment. Years or reskinned weapons/armour, content taken away, consistent bugs, inconsistent nerfs and buffs, the -blam!- show that is pvp just to name a few. I don’t hate destiny, I have got my moneys worth out of the game, It is my favourite game but I certainly will not be preordering the next expansion, not saying I won’t buy it if it’s good , im just tired of giving this greedy company then benefit of the doubt.

They had the money and manpower all these years to actually do something good with this game, but they chose to let this game go to crap. This is how things are going to be for the next decade or so knowing Sony bought them out and they have multiple projects going that all those games will suffer as badly as this one did. It's going to be interesting to see how much they lie about Marathon knowing they are using the same outdated engine from 2001 for this game.

I’ll play devils advocate for the fun of it. All Gaming Industry follow the same road. Majority of staff with skills work on new products. New managers with rotating staff work on carryover. A skeleton crew for the legacy. Milk all products for as much profit as legally possible. Work hard to find VC to fund new products. If possible grow by purchasing small games or get purchased by large conglomerates to increase VC chances. Funding goes to new projects first. Anguish or legacy and carryover product, slighted fans, complaints on lack of support, trolls slowly outnumber fans. All boxes checked. If I was the devil I would be eating well.

I haven’t preordered or paid full price for any D2 DLC. It was clear light fall was indeed a filler dlc and ran out of things to sell the player base. I find it a little worrying that after final shape D2 could start losing support. Sure they can say they will stick around but they are in no way obligated to do so. Instead they will devote all their time to marathon which sounds like an actual nightmare of a game for regular gamers but a dream for mobile gamers or children. I’ll still play the dlcs of light fall and final shape but only when they are heavily discounted or given away for free. But I’m seriously calling it that marathon is going to be very bad and people will love it for some reason.

I understand this is a company wanting to expand to other projects but what pisses me off is the new game is only a PVP game. Ok thats fine if you're into that but im not. So the many that are like me are still stuck with the scrap's called D2 until it ends. Been here since beta D1 so this is going to hurt. Invested a lot of time into it over the years but old enough to realise it has to happen and agree with OP i wont spend anymore money here till the end, sorry bungie. Anyway its been a good ride but moving on.
