Why exactly can’t we use keyboard and mouse on console
Literally cod and some other games that support keyboard and mouse works beautifully with console keyboard and mouse.
I just don’t want to spend a couple thousand of dollars just to play with keyboard and mouse on Destiny 2.

If it was officially supported it would be fine, the main issue is that controllers get a certain amount of aim assist that M&KB don't, this is because of the higher precision with a mouse. However, some people use devices that allow them to use M&KB on console that also gives the controller AA because its not recognised. Equally some people on PC use a similar device to trick the game into thinking they're using a controller so they too can benefit from the AA. If M&KB were officially supported then Destiny would detect the mouse/controller and switch accordingly, but both Microsoft and Sony are apprehensive for some games for security reasons. So, the hate isn't necessarily because of the mouse use alone but more the exploit for aim assist. I've played against PC players and can mostly hold my own, occasionally I'd face someone with far better/quicker aim but instead of crying cheater I just accept that M&KB users have the potential to beat me. Its my limitation that I suck with M&KB.
