This Fortnite collab has killed my will to play this game.
First SBMM and now you let this parasite infest the game? And whats hilarious is the kiddie Fortnite armor looks better than all of your original works. This sets a bad precedent for gaming. Have a mediocre game? Fortnite is here to save the day! What a waste.
Edit: Great! The ridiculous nature of this post attracted alot of attention! Hopefully now, alot more people can understand why SBMM is a terrible thing and should be protested.
To make it short, SBMM doesnt want fair matches. It enforces win rates. Over on Halo Infinite, the SBMM algorithm has been exposed for what it truly is. Here is a video summing it up:

If you are too lazy to watch the video, the TLDW is on Halo Waypoint, you can see the algorithms predictions in your match history as a comparison. There is also a line graph cooinciding with the statistics. The line goes up and down, pairing this with matches, your win/loss is roughly around 50% which is 343s goal. The game will purposefully pair you with or against lesser skilled players to make you win or lose, as we can see in this reddit post:

So to all you casual players, who think you will be saved, Im sorry.... but the algorithm will still pair you with sweats so you get slapped around.
Bungie has a goal too, while not 50% on the dot, is still in that middleground. Forcing middling winrates with no outliers not only violates competitive integrity, but it has very high player retention. Who would want players to progress and finish seasonal challenges quickly? More time spent is a higher chance of that player spending money. This is what the algorithm does.
In conclusion, SBMM shouldnt be called SBMM. It has nothing to do with your skill. CS GO? Now that game matches you based on your rank which is the best way to do it. All the competitive ranks there are basically skill brackets, you will fall into place there. I find it hilarious that Bungie stated matches were decided before a shot is fired, while under SBMM, the match is decided before you even fly to the map...

It would have been alright if the collaboration was to fix or improve the game but it is just for money.

Fortnite collab means more crossover players to Destiny. Probably the reason why SBMM is being implemented. Don't wanna scare the kids away!

Like, at all, but the only thing that's obviously from there at first glance in those cosmetics is the Warlock set, and even then, you need to kinda squint beyond the Helmet. Even then, malding this hard over cosmetic sets such a stark minority of the playerbase will ever fully use is a bit bad, especially considering only the Warlock helmet looks definitively out of place. Second, you fundamentally misunderstand the fact that the matchmaking we're getting is comparable to pre-2019 CoD, not post-2019 CoD or Halo Infinite. It isn't going to be nearly as strict as those games, and thus shouldn't be complained about until we've had time to play it. If it ends up sucking, sure, say your piece. But it's a different system to what's in the games you're comparing things to, even the stricter system that was in place before wasn't as strict as CoD's new system or Halo Infinite.

I'll agree on the Fortnite skins for D2 looking better than what bungie makes most of the time lol but that's just how it is, every other game has some seriously WILD looking armor compared to what bungie makes (specially when sometimes bungie slightly alters an ornament, ship, sparrow, ghost etc and resell it on eververse, looking at you full silver ornament for Erianas Vow and silver skin for Travelers Chosen that both do not change anything on the gun except their color and were only sold for SILVER at an absurd price lol) Bungie should just hire Epic, Digital Extremes, Square Enix whoever really and just pay them to come up with designs so bungie can just focus on fixing bugs and content, less stress on em imo
