Half of destinys core identity is abilities. Whether youre chilling at 0 stats and no mods or fully specced into x, y, or z those abilities will be there. Not with, "combat acceleration" present.
It fundamentally isnt an enjoyable modifier. Doesnt matter if you have max discipline with 2x overflowing light. Doesnt matter if you just snapped a thrall and have "sunbracers ready" on the side of your screen. Doesnt matter if you have the most min-maxed stats or the perfect elemental well build. Doesnt even seem to matter if you build up stacks of combat acceleration to please the modifier's supposed upside. Your abilities will take an unnecessary amount of time to come back.

3 RepliesI don't care about the modifier itself, but I do care that Bungie has suddenly decided to put modifiers that punish solo players on a seasonal story. Who thought that was a good idea? I despise playing a story mission in a group. I want to explore and have fun, not listen to everyone else pretending to know where the story is going because they watched a streamer vid but won't admit it. There is no excuse for putting a constant"drifting apart" on the screen in a seasonal mission that everyone playing the game paid for as actual seasonal content. It's just another weak disappointment in a weak season after a weak DLC. Even the dungeon is pathetic and not enjoyable enough to play through more than once. I haven't even felt the urge to log on even though I have free time right now. I'd rather rewatch Grey's Anatomy yet again than log in to see what my clan is doing.

4 RepliesEdited by Cal O'Mari: 6/18/2022 5:42:25 AMOur typical Bungie. Take this intricate system focused on build-crafting so you can do end-game content, so they can take away all the purpose of building for end-game, by creating modifiers in the end-game to nullify all the effort put into build-crafting for the end-game... If that doesn't sound like the most "WTF" premise, and weakest excuse for difficulty, I don't know what to tell you. But I can tell you this is the level of common sense that's gone into, about too much.

2 RepliesJust shoot at the enemies
-
Just.... shoot the things?
-
I dont necessarily think the modifier is bad I guess it make you have to think about when or how you use something but I mean yeah for a seasonal story/activity that many people do quickly like come on. Like I said I dont thinks necessarily a bad idea for like gms or something
-
I researched this and yes I agree. There is nothing fun or creative about this. What a pathetic idea and it will make people actually play less

11 RepliesRemember "trickle?" Pepperidge Farm remembers. Good times. (Not.)

When there's nothing to hate about the game .....

3 RepliesI was too busy bonking everything with my throwing hammer to notice.

1 ReplyWe need rainbow burn back lol

3 RepliesIt’s famine (reduced ammo drops) for abilities, a difficulty increasing modifier. It’s a fair modifier to have as they could have ones that disable an ability or multiple altogether. Using well mods seemlessly ignores this effect when paired with demolitionist weapons for grenades, it’s just no longer spam, which this game desperately does NOT need
-
-blam!- brother, I just shoot the things fast enough that I don’t end up noticing a difference
-
I’m confused by your statement, please give me an example of your complaint
-
I never even noticed it really
-
2 RepliesWhat’s combat acceleration?
-
6 RepliesHorrible take, considering abilities recharge quickly after you shoot an enemy and build the stacks. Stop crying and making a mountain out of a molehill

12 RepliesEdited by Dredgen Araphel: 6/17/2022 7:27:18 AMDestiny is listening to the toxic community thats wants emphasis on gunplay in every aspect of the game not just pvp. I can deal with combat acceleration but no modifier is worse then acute burns, its litteraly a mod to the detriment of players.

1 ReplyThis modifier showed me how reliant on Classy Restoration I’ve become. “Ahhh! I can’t dodge, I can’t dodge!” Usually how it goes.
-
I had no issue with it and barely even noticed considering the build I was using. Here's the thing, if they gonna keep making us as strong as they are they have to balance out the actual gameplay end rather than just making the enemies an OHK or some stupid BS like the bridge in T3 Reckoning. This modifier definitely seems to be a means to help keep things in check without going too far since you can work around it if you know what you're doing.

Bonk hammer don’t get tired

I was using my Warlock with the infinite nades after melee kills build. Surprise surprise this damn modifier actually SLOWS MY NADE CHARGE RATE even with sunbracers active............. Like wow.... Zero fun allowed...

4 RepliesEdited by hate n payne: 6/17/2022 5:51:37 PMThey tried to copy a version from Guardian Games and failed when all they had to do was copy and paste the system itself. It is like 2 different type of people work at Bungie. The ones that want fun and the ones that want cancerous gameplay.

"PoWeR cReEp!!!!"
-
I agree, its the worst modifier ever
-
Can we get rid of Famine yet? It's never been fun not even in Halo.

25 RepliesFinally something that sounds like fun! I like destiny for the gun play, and find all this ability spam rather annoying part of the game.
