So many terms, buffs debuffs, stat charge rates and compounding abilities and very little of it synergizes in a one to one ratio. This is a shooter. Not a chess game. Not a D&D board. Destiny really needs a streamlining for easier to set up play style builds.

Edited by A_mo: 6/15/2022 2:41:39 PMA lot of people seem to like the increased options or what I guess can be called complexity in terms of build crafting and some people on here have even said they want more. In PvE complex isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as its not confusing. Confusing is not good particularly when you want new players to stick with the game. Overall the direction the game has been going in seems really good because its supposed to have a heavy rpg and mmo influence. In PvP that stuff is fine too but there shouldn't be anything wrong with thinking about what form some kind of streamlining could take. A lot of "PvP mains" or whatever you want to call them might like something that focuses on more traditional fps skillsets. I know I'd like to see something more gunplay focused that really centered on gameplay quality, consistency, and uniformity among players. And less weapons and things where less is required of the players. There would definitely be consequences to something like that but it would be something that stood alongside the current approach instead of something that replaced it.

7 RepliesNot trying to argue your point, because there is very little direction to go by… But, mmorpg style games are in fact just like chess. Either against the pve content designs or against other players in PvP. Bungie has been telling us rather clearly since after forsaken that this is ultimately their direction with destiny and the changes at play. This is not defending bungie against your point though… because if this is their chosen direction, the ability currently to really understand what you are building has little return via informing us of our progress on our builds. Most other games show you the effects of what you are crafting in real time… this game does not.

2 RepliesIts fun in pve but it sucks in pvp. You just never know who has kill clip activated, you never know who is radiant or has volatile rounds. This game does a terrible job at showing these things that lead to a ton of BS. We haven’t even gotten to arc 3.0, you think all these buffs and debuffs are bad now? Just wait until next season.

Agreed, I hate when games become over complicated, just give me guns and let me shoot ‘em All this crafting, modding bs, it’s nothing but annoying

It sounds like you want to play a linear game that holds your hand the entire time. Which is fine, but that's not how this game works. If you try to understand how things work you'll come up with some powerful builds. But if you really don't care just sit in patrol zones or strikes where builds really don't matter

Look at stuff and equip it if it goes together.

1 ReplyIt's really not that complicated. Bungie does a poor job showing actual numbers to let players make informed decisions on their builds. Also unless you use DIM no way to save loadouts. It's just silly.

Idk man game kinda ez to understand
