I quickly got reminded of how gjallahorn ruins that game mode. I’m not touching that garbage for the rest of the season.

Let`s see..Standard weapons do minimal damage to Prime Evil..Continual respawning Envoys..Invaders still have a ridiculously large edge, even without heavy ammo..Same old maps..Randoms V Teams. Yeah right 3 for the panicle and out for me. And don`t get me started on the hot mess known as the Crucible.

1 ReplyStrategy: Equip a rocket launcher and save your heavy ammo. When an invader comes in looking to feed the primeval, blow yourself up as they approach. Repeat as needed. No more health regeneration.
-
Me who hasn't played Gambit for months: 😀
-
Just remember at the very minimum exotics do not work for any modes involving pvp
-
Gambit has always been ruined by heavy. Sleeper, queen breaker, xeno, eyes etc. Gjally is that hot -blam!- right now. I run a legendary HC over Ace just to run Gjally in comp.
-
Lol heavy weapons overall ruin the whole mode. As soon as bungie removes heavy weapons from gambit, thats when the mode will finally be playable.
-
I wouldn't call gambit garbage but yes you are right about gally
-
Others have said it too, it's heavy ammo in general. 1v4 with wall hacks, an overshield and plenty of heavy ammo is the problem here. Solution? Disable heavy weapons when invading? Too much? I don't think so.
-
It’s heavy in general, it’s always been an issue. I’d only have the high value spawn heavy or alternatively, just have the invader have a relic as a weapon instead of their usual weapons.
-
3 RepliesI’ll say it again, gambit would be a better experience if heavy was disabled. No heavy, less primeval health. Two simple changes which would likely make the overall experience much better.
-
Played some last night. It's just obnoxious at this point. Every invader, nothing but Gally.

1 ReplyThey say insanity is trying the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.

6 RepliesYeah, it’s busted as hell when used by invaders though there are a few decent players who know how to use other weapons. I think that the real issue with making equal footing for Gambit is to give the invaded side a better means of defending themselves when the invader pops in. With stacked teams, they can coordinate and deny an invader the moment they spawn in(if they know what they are doing), but with Freelance or pubs you can’t even really communicate to your teammates that you just saw the Invader peeking from across the map and getting ready to float over to the bank as your team’s finishing mopping up mores from a side. There needs to be a better way to track, avoid or deny them kills.

Don't know what class you main, but on warlock if you pop on astrocyte and blink you can really confuse those ghorn spammers. I've been using black talon with astrocyte and shredding

The game mode itself is tired, old and boring. Gjallahorn is the cherry on top. I look forward to getting to the stage whereby i don't need the gambit pinnacle anymore. The only reason its still in the game is because Bungie don't want to front the resources to give us a new game mode. However, They're more than happy to pocket the cash whilst putting in minimum improvements to improve there drab playlists.
-
With the nerf to tracking (which seems to apply to WP rounds as well even though they are automated) it’s usually pretty easy to avoid. Invaders can’t even scope and lock most times unless your just standing or jumping out in the open. However the gambit rework is a nice pile of poopoo though.

Deathbringer is just as worse if you know how to use it

3 Replies"I quickly got reminded of how any rocket with tracking ruins that game mode. I’m not touching that garbage for the rest of the season." Fixed that for you.

After taking several weeks from gambit I KMS in the IRL
-
I got taken out by a 2nd g-horn shot only because I was busy laughing at the invaders 1st shot bouncing off a barricade into his own face. Didn't kill him though. Even with the supposed "reduced tracking" any heavy kills most in 30 seconds or will kill the invader just as fast......yeah, good times. I went from daily gambit to 3 and out
I quickly got reminded of how gjallahorn ruins that game mode. I’m not touching that garbage for the rest of the season.
Wrong Did you run dungeon to get it?

It’s not just Gjallarhorn, it’s heavy weapons as a whole. There needs to be better management of heavy ammo.
