Should've called this Hotfix "The One That Slows Progression"
I don't think anything else needs saying. Just when I thought about writing a congratulatory post on what they got right with this expansion. Then again, no one knows how to ruin a good thing like Bungie. One step at a time.
Grinding is the most fun when it doesn't feel like grinding.

8 RepliesThe most laughable part about this was the way there were still some players expecting Bungie to actually fix the Wellspring with this hotfix instead of axing player beneficial gameplay. Bungie is as Bungie do -- and they 'do' not fix problems until several months after it is brought to their attention, unless that 'problem' is actually something that reduces the grind for players or allows them to have a more enjoyable experience in gameplay.

Yeah. We are less than two weeks into this expansion and I just don’t care. The endless grind for light level, pinnacle drops (which for me have been repeats), massive grind for weapon shaping, etc. I’m going play other games until Bungie makes significant QoL changes.

Bungie has never had a single clue on how to blend the grind into natural gameplay. They don't know how to make repeatable content fun, only how to make it take as long as possible to complete each round. Look at their bounties for playlist activities. Almost every-single-one requires you to essentially not play the activity as intended and actively fight against your own teammates so you can complete them. Didn't get that final precision blow with your handcannon? Tough sh*t. Do it again. The easiest fix to something like that is have any assist count toward bounties requiring kills, which is almost all of them, but make the final blow with a specific weapon or ability count the most. Done. Now players can get their bounties done while actually playing the activity like they're meant to. Same for their damn exotic catalyst chores....I mean quests... Have assists count but final blows with the weapon count more. Done. Players still gotta put in the work but the game would hide most of that grind behind simply playing the activity normally.

The Bungie rule: Having too much fun? Can’t have that. Instant patch. Something is actually broke and hindering player enjoyment? Months to fix. If fixed at all. The Bungie Way. Their history since 2014 proves this is indeed a rule they follow. Prove me wrong.

Rinse and Repeat. They create exotics for DLC sales, and make sure things ship OP just to "sell". Then they want to tweak after the numbers come in. Same ol song and dance.

1 ReplyThey really didn't not have to remove the chest farm... I personally could care less about how much XP I got which was from what I hear is the reason why they Took it away. I know a lot of people like myself we're looking for god roll weapons. What they could've done is that when you open up a chest you get a certain amount of XP and then put it on a timer & if you open up another chest within a short amount of time, that XP would be cut in half ,and it would progressively get lower and lower and lower that way you could still farm for the god Rolled weapon that you desire.. shoot even if it was that much of a problem and they not only can Nerf the XP that comes off of it but also the power level of those weapons as well..... that way you still have an option to get the correct roll that you want without breaking the experience system or your light level system... They had options they just took the easy way out Sorry I'll get off my soapbox now it's just an idea

Anything that slows us down or keeps us from getting our reward takes months. Did three wellsprings last night with nothing coming out of the chest at the end and my powerful drop was lower than the slot it dropped on. When a game wastes this much of your time you start questioning why you bother to play it.

2 RepliesCan’t say how you all farm but I did not use the tier 3 chest farm and I’m at rank 42 or 43 for fynch. It’s not hard to gain rep fast without doing some cheese farm. Even at rank 12 for the gunsmith and never pulled anything from collections.
