Handheld supernova is trash now

Why would i even use this nerfed into the ground subclass. The grenade knock back is a joke. I know there will be salt in the comments but its mostly the guys who used shatter-dive. This was my only defense against a chaperone rush. Chaperone outranges side arms. I use a sniper. If you have something planned with the new void customization let us know otherwise I’m going back to being a boring hunter with stomp-EE5. it needs its one hit back I was using it defensively today and i got wrecked after throwing it in an opponent’s face. When i throw the grenade there is a cooldown in which i cant fire my guns. This subclass is not worth using… its sad too it was the most unique i have ever seen…

  • I tried using it, not only did the push back not work but I also had three shotgun apes run towards me and killing me not giving af about my hhsn

  • To be fair, it has had its inconsistencies before. Targets with lots of forward momentum towards you who are moving too fast and/or are [i]sliding[/i] could avoid most of the damage. The boop probably didn't work due to similar reasons.

        Yeah but what are ya gonna do its not like its super skill based. It would be really hard to make it skill based as well. Although they did manage to make shatterdive much more skill based for what its worth. Kinda wish flux nades wouldnt stick to frozen targets. Went against the most annoying hunter today with the stasis sidearm and flux nades man literally froze every other target that came at him. One time I felt so disrespected he froze me chucked a flux nade on me and just ran to kill more bc as soon as I came out of freeze I was dead. Thats really -blam!- lame, I defended the change when I read it, but I never would have guessed there would still be an instant freeze ability in the game which removes all skill aspects from flux nades.

            I’m happy with more gun play. One of the best decisions by far! Also the base hunter jump is god awful so if you were to nerf stompees you’d have to buff the jump.

            • Tip for using nova warp and this was even before the patch. Dont use hand held supernova cause it is useless and has been since the initial nerf

            • While I agree with you I still use it to my advantage to push enemies away and finnish them off with my primary weapon been working great or just yeeting people off edges is the funniestt ive ever seen

The Grenade does suck, the [u]only[/u] thing it had was 1-shot but it can’t do that even with exotics. Atleast make Contraverse make it a 1-shot. While Chappy does have range, I think the AA is the real problem here. To easy to use on both Controller and M&K.

                • In all my time playing this game, I can count on two fingers how many times I've gotten one hit with a handheld nova vs the countless times I've been one hit by shatterdive. They shouldn't have touched handheld supernova. But baby hunters always gotta get their way.

                    • Has been since they nerfed it into oblivion 2 years ago. Was the best counter to recluse and people got mad the 1 warlock a game was using it. Havent touched it or nova warp since that nerf back then. Hhsn was a fusion in your hand now its a bunch of feathers.
