There is nothing wrong about not knowing how to do something.
However, trying to find a GM team who actually KWTD and ask for that experience, to be met with people who dont have correct load outs or cant get past the evaluator room cause they actually dont KWTD and are hoping to get carried through the hardest content in the game. Is infuriating.
Considering its a GM and nothing new, check out a YouTube or simply state on the app that you are looking for guidance, and need to experience players.
The sheer amount of time I have had to waste trying to form a team/join a team that actually know what they are doing is insane, or when you have experience players but they leave after a random wipe, which happens in GM's.
Just be honest, do a little learning and stop wasting peoples time. Cause you will get people who are eager to help, and once I have done the GM for the seal - im down to help people looking.

I saw a dude requiring 30+ VoG clears, and he had zero clears lol.

Edited by AbsolutZeroGI: 10/29/2021 10:16:22 AMI's a combination of problems. 1. Endgame stuff like GMs and Master VoG is only obtainable by farming low level content like bounties. I've always believed there should be progression that determines when you go into something, but instead Bungo makes us farm bounties and seasonal challenges, which anyone can do. Since most of them can be cheesed, people don't learn anything and end up being bad at true endgame content. Like farming champion stuns by going into a legend lost sector solo, finding the first champion, and just stunning it 50 times, never completing the lost sector. Or using thrallway to cheese ability or weapon kills. 2. Too large of a percentage of the community relies too heavily on carries. I see it everyday in LFGs. People asking for carries because the only activities that grant the best loot require time and patience, but fusion meta is only gonna be for this season. This FOMO approach leads to players taking massive shortcuts and they end up being bad at endgame content when they get there. 3. Is a community problem. If you did 1 and 2, and then join a run with an experienced group, they treat you like human garbage. That chases people away before they finish a activities and then they drop back into the pool with a bad attitude and having learned nothing. 4. Is also a community problem. People hug their crutch weapons so hard that when Bungo throws a curve ball, like bow overload (which is nice btw), people can't handle it because they only use the same half a dozen weapons for everything. Overload bow is amazing, it stuns in a single hit (vs SMG overload which is actual trash), but nobody uses bows so most people suck with them. 5. Is a Bungo and community problem. Last Wish has been out for years at this point. People been playing that whole time never bothered to learn Last Wish or get 1k voices because it is a super mediocre weapon without particle deconstruction. These hard to get raid exotics should be at least somewhat useful all the time to encourage people to play those activities over a longer period of time and people should be anticipating that a specific weapon may get amazing at the start of a season. 6. GMs and Master VoG are cheap. Cheap as hell. Being one shot all the time, being 2-3 shot by red bars, snipers being one hit kills, grenades being insane and thrown constantly. GMs for strikes with little natural cover in main boss rooms (corrupted and the one on nessus everyone hates) can turn even an experienced team into angry failures with one or two ill timed mistakes. 7. PvP and PvE meta is too different. Too many times do I have to tell a PvP player that their PvP gear sucks in PvE and they need to change to something else. They don't grind for PvE stuff so they're badly equipped and prepared despite putting 1000 hours into the game. And a few other things I'm sure. tldr But the point is, playing the rest of the game doesn't prepare you for GMs or master VoGs and yet the parts of the game that prepare you the least for them are the ones you have to do 1000 times to get high enough light to even do them. Why can't I grind master nightfalls to prepare for a GM? If I grind VoGs to do a master VoG I MIGHT be ready by January. Then it's almost too late to get Fatebreaker or anything useful. It's bonkers.

Edited by wolbeas: 10/29/2021 5:27:34 AMIf you asked if they knew what to do and they said yes but turned out they don't know anything, then you are right. But if you didn't ask, that's on you. They made the post, you asked to join. Not the other way around.

Here is the thing: In the forum, we keep telling these people (who are low light or don’t know what to do) to “Just make your own fire team . . . and that’s what you get. 🌭

14 RepliesIts what happens with VoG master, got a guy that was 1350+ but he was using a non adept corrective measure for DPS on atheon, and i said he needed 1k and he said "its not necessary, you can use any heavy, this machinegun does more damage cause it has subsistence and firefly", its what happens when bungie prioritize people who farm bounties doing endgame content, xp grinding doens't mean you have skill

5 RepliesEdited by heat5360: 10/27/2021 4:16:46 PMdont tell me what to do. and stop being a bully.

I avoid posts with kwtd. They have either been noobs or elitist with bad attitude that will kick if you don’t meet their expectations.
-
Yes. Must have Conqueror title only post is best. This way I know they’ve successfully tackled GM content successfully. This season I haven’t had the urge to play GM’s.
-
7 RepliesIt is 100% right. If I do not KWTD, I am looking for someone which KWTD. Where is the problem?
-
Honestly it's why I avoid lfg all together and just wait it out so I can ask my clan for help. No I'm not saying join a clan, I'm saying I perfer waiting it out over dealing with some dumb requirements.
-
1 ReplyBut... what if I don’t know what to do so I’m looking for people that can help me understand what to do?
-
1 ReplyJust be thankful that you have to put together a team for nightfalls that are Legend and above.
-
3 Replieswym they need a team that ktwd so they can carry them obviously. You know what's better than a personal sherpa ? 5
-
6 RepliesI suppose it looks better than posting, "I'm looking to be carried"......
-
It is even a bit more frustrating when people leave after first wipe. It happens (wipe) even to best streamers. Takes so much time.
-
4 RepliesThe funniest one I saw was a poster who was looking for "Master VoG, 1351+, KWTD" The fella was 1339 😂 The audacity 😂
-
i KWTD :)
-
2 RepliesTbh, I think people do this because they know if they put an lfg request up saying they don’t know, many people won’t join. I’m not saying it’s right but just my opinion. I’ve had this happen many times with trials too.
-
1 ReplyI hate it even more in trials when people ask for 1.3+ kd when they have .5
-
4 RepliesBut how else will you get a free carry. Side note; the worst players are those who dont know what to do, but pretend to because they watched a video once.
-
Wait a minute. How else can they get you to carry them?
-
1 ReplyNot sure if you meant to put "evaluator room," but it fits.
-
It’s real simple….when you link up in orbit look at their loadout, if it’s not right I just quickly leave

dog its a strike
