If i'd take this long to react to heavy customer concerns, i'd be fired ten times over by now

The "we are listening" term doesn't work with your current reaction time. Most major concerns with an easy and quick fix are being implemented 1-2 years later. We need quicker reactions. It can't be that we have to play on the same maps for 2 years cause you can't tick a box to re-implement the pvp maps from the DCV. It can't be a thing that completely broken things like shatter dive exist for almost 2 years. Just to name a couple. I could make a list for 5 hours with examples but i can't be bothered rn. You legit felt the need to mention it about 15 times in a recent twab about the mid-season balance patch that this will not be the norm. That tells me everything. You didn't even balance a whole lot in this small update. Yet you had to make it clear as day that patches like that will not happen regularly. How can a huge company like you be okay with the current live support of your main title. Your community managers constantly decline every single minor request by community parts with the phrase "most of our team is working on a major release for the future". Yea thats fine but you can't just completely shift literally everyone in your company to a different game and future DLC for D2. A live service game needs live service. You took almost a year to re-issue a handful of dreaming city weapons. The reaction time for major concerns and complaints supported by thousands is just not worthy a double A studio. This is way less than a "true" indie dev gives to their customers. Really dedicated, supportive and patient players even lose patience when you can't even throw us a bone here and there. Every exploit that remotely benefits players by any means gets fixed a couple of days after being public. Why not something qol related.

  • I love the people in here asking if OP knows how to coding like that’s a valid argument. You don’t need to be an expert in a field to expect people in that field to do their job. If Bungo wants me to spend my money then they need to earn it. They have been takin the lazy route for the longest time now and they don’t have Acti to blame now. We have only had a hand full of strikes in recent years, no new crucible maps, no new IB armor, one bad expansion with one another mediocre one, and the majority of weapons we get are reissued. At what point does that extra profit they are making actually go back into the game?

  • Yeah, been waiting over a week for response to a faulty goods email sent to the store team. Bungie's customer service standards are appalling. I've worked in sales and customer service for over twenty years and not seen worse.

  • I don't think any of my suggestions for or issues with the game have even got a "we're listening" or "will pass the feedback along". Kinda just feels like shouting into the void, so I stopped offering feedback.

The frustration expressed can be attributed to the current game direction. D2 isn’t being developed to provide a live service experience any longer. That ship sailed 2+ years ago when the decision was made to go F2P, implement the seasonal model c/w FOMO to drive player engagement and increase the items available in the cash shop. The franchise shifted from Live Service to a WoW/Fortnite hybrid that allows for profitability with minimal development. When you compare the Destiny franchise to other games in the genre nothing can touch it. This allows Bungie to stay the course and focus on their next IP. Not what many players would like given how much potential this game had. It is what it is and no amount of backlash or criticism will change this. One day, maybe, hopefully, someday, another studio will create a FPS that will rival Destiny. Until that day arrives this is the best that there is.

I agree, Bungie have managed to make a live service game without the live service. Here's the kicker though. It makes them a shit load of money. They are expanding offices and working on other IP and much of that will be off the back of the cash Destiny rakes in. With this in mind, why would they change? Players can scream until they are blue in the face - if the money keeps rolling, they'll keep going. The only thing players can do is do what I, and many others have done, and decide the game isn't on the trajectory you want it to go and part ways. Maybe in the future some miracle will happen and it will get better so you don't need to close that door forever, but if you don't like the way it is now, don't play now. That's the only thing that will make Bungie care.

          • As long as people keep throwing money at the screen then there's no reason for Bungo to change. Why would they if their product is still a cash cow?

          • In all fairness a lot of the changes fans want take months or longer to make. Not too mention regular updates and bug fixes that they release every season. This is why most of the feed back changes are typically seen with dlc launches which only happen once a year.

The truth here is that Bungie has provided a very poor service and no one needs to be a developer to know or see that. So people need to stop the BS trying to use that excuse to try to shut the truth down. This game should have evolved in just about every aspect of it since D1 but it hasn't and that is a fact. Bungie is running the game on an outdated system that has more issues than they or the Bungies fans would care to admit. The false promises like when they said they would provide a better service than D1 when they haven't, shows by their actions that it hasn't improved at all, in fact, it's gotten worse than D1 that the game's issues are piling up that it's out of their control. But, as long as they keep creating the fluff TWAB'S things must be running smooth right? Got a question, Cozmo listed a few issues Solstice Heroes has, but the event ends on Aug 3rd. How many of them issues were fixed and what did Bungie mention about them in the recent TWAB?

              • Bungie is in somewhat of a unique position. They don't have any direct competition for this kind of game and they know it. They simply don't have to acknowledge you, or anybody. You'll get what you're given and like it. If not, hit the road. This has been their stance for years and it is not going to change. I also think people take this shit (and video games in general) way too seriously which also gives the power to Bungie. As long as the money is rolling in and people are playing, they don't have to do anything different.

Nothing is that simple. Which happened while was with 90% of the game was removed completely or stored somewhere. I want to say removed entirely. Whatever they did, it made my Xbox One S seem like a Series S. It don't think its that simple to implement.

I know everyone has gripes about the game to some degree or another, but some of these expectations are unrealistic. Im sure if coding or just changing things in game were that easy we would get constant updates all the time but even that would be impossible because who would they listen too? The complaints are never the same. I just saw a post where one guy said PVP catalyst should be able to be had from strikes... sheesh who do you make happy?

im guessing from your name that you work with pizza (US) or coffee (UK). Video games are a bit different to your standard service industry jobs. just tell me any product that gives you the value for money that video games give when you can get hundreds or thousands of hours of entertainment out of them? i bet you make lousy pizza/coffee and still expect a tip.
