You unfortunately can't simply unsunset old weapons, or you'll risk an equally big (or perhaps bigger) outrage. Many people have long since deleted their sunset gear under the pretense that sunsetting was going to be permanent, so to reverse that without compensating would be a massive disservice to those people as the only people that really benefit are hoarders. Bungie, or really any gaming company, couldn't restore all of those items easily either, as they'd have to go in and look at tons of player inventory logs and restore them based off of a ticket or inventory rollback; on a large scale, this just unnecessarily takes a huge amount of time and effort that could be allocated somewhere else. Unfortunately, the effects are just irreversible at this point so the easier option is to reissue the older gear.

Wow, this thread (not the original post) kind of shows the toxic side of the community. Rather than have an actual constructive discussion and staying civil, people (on both sides) immediately resort to “you’re throwing a tantrum” or “you’re just being entitled and selfish” If I’m being completely honest half of the comments on either side of the argument are entitled, boiling down to “what I say must be what happens, if you disagree you’re just entitled yourself” Maybe I’m reading too much into it but it’s sad to see the community like this.

Things get much murkier when we decide what to sunset and what not to based on what are problems and not. They should have either never sunset or kept sunsetting. I’m in favour of sunsetting but nobody took your guns away you can use em.

I’d like my black armory weapons back. I spent countless hours grinding the perfect rolls on every weapon including the secondary ones. I have 50k kills on one of my blast furnaces alone. I’d like them back for sure. They should make an item attainable in the season pass to upgrade a kinetic, energy and power weapon that’s sunset. This way you can bring 3 along. I get they had issues with NF, recluse and MT so I understand why they decided to sunset pinnacles but our legendary weapons should be viable to use in activities. I was completely opposed and out spoken about sunsetting. Several of us called it and knew they’d walk it back. They should finish that process and walk it completely back except for old pinnacles.

No because Bungie told people to dismantle there capped weapons, and the sheep listened. So they can't uncap them because they will upset the sheep who did what they were told I still have all my capped weapons, I wouldn't dismantle them for nothing

They could only un-sunset selected Ritual Or Quest legendary weapons that came MW'd with a fixed roll and are still available in Collections/Monument - that would be fair It would be very unfair to un-sunset weapons that come as random rolls that people have dismantled god rolls of, because they were assured they were never going to be infuseable to current power levels

Yup, still mad that I grinded for 21% Delirum and they took it away. That was my favorite heavy weapon by far. It was dumb for them to sunset so many weapons and now recycle them back in. However, the Pinnacles we grinded for are still sunset. They did not need to sunset pinnacles.

I haven’t played since season of unworthy because haha I knew what was coming and decided to leave the game and watch everyone else complain about the things I warned them about. You want the game to be fixed. Shotguns,sniper rifles,fusion rifles go back into the heavy slot. Bungie stops being lazy and designs new shotguns,sniper rifles,and fusion rifles to fit into the kinetic or energy slot. One problem down. Remove mida multi crutch and put all scout rifles back to factory setting. Second problem down. Take away one hit shoulder charges. It was taken away for a reason. Could have simply given it a damage boost or hell stop being lazy and make an exotic armor piece that would allow shoulder charges to be one hit kills. Would have been a better idea either way. Third problem down. Decrease the rang on handcannon that fixes the issue of handcannons being scout rifles. Put all subclasses back to what they were when first released and figure out some alternative to balancing because it’s stupid for abilities to be as weak as they in the pve environment. As for every weapon as they are. Simple. Make custom frames for each allow us to pick and chose perks for them make us earn them and allow us to have a custom paint or skin to them that is not made by bungie. Not every weapon will be the same. Of course they will have there default skins but have where we the players can chose how we want them. Yes I do understand this opens up a problem but it’s better than bungie being lazy and unimaginative and doing exactly EXACTLY what they did in destiny 1 which was force players to abandoned all the weapons they spent time and effort to collect throw them away get slapped in the face and told to do it again.

Meanwhile, in Genshin Impact, you can use day 1 gear in today’s end-game content, with basically no nerfs so far, only buffs, power creep be damned lol (the game is still challenging for most players), and in just a few days, a whole big new area composed of 6 islands is coming for free along with quests, loot and most importantly NEW ENEMIES, something we haven’t seen in destiny for ages and will likely never see.

No way in hell. If done, better also expand vault space and return all sharded items with their kill trackers and MW intact (impossible, pretty sure). So many great weapons gone... I wish people stopped bringing it up though as it is a crazy idea at this point.

Honestly, I'd be pissed if they did. Had to delete a lot of sunset gear to make space in my vault that I absolutely wouldn't have deleted if they were unsunset.

pinnacles like not forgotten, recluse, and mountain top are the main reason for sunsetting. bungie created outliers that were top tier in any situation then got upset when people used them for every situation
