Is it just me, or does it really bother anyone else that we hardly ever see this tag on forum threads? Looking through the community manager's Bungie activity, it seems to show we get a response maybe once a month, if we're lucky.
I know Cozmo is a reddit guy, and DMG is a Twitter guy... Could we maybe get a forum guy/girl? This app and forum were pushed as an integral part of the game experience and it feels like it just rots away, in neglect.
It's frustrating having to go to third party websites to try and chase information or responses from devs/cm's down. Could we please see your official area get some love, or at least some attention? At this point it seems like the forum is just the red headed step child, where everyone misbehaves in hopes of getting noticed so they'll get ANY kind of attention. It's really sad. The lack of positive interactions only entrenches this behavior.
Trust me, I get that dealing with pissed off people is terrible. I also understand that some people can't tell the difference between feedback, and curses, and threats. I know there's not always going to be answers to our questions or feedback, particularly when it's the same topic of discussion over and over. However, I genuinely believe that without any form of positive and frequent interaction from the people who we're supposed to be looking to for communication, this community will continue to become more and more virulent.

I'd rather them be super focused on fixing the game than meeting a forum post quota. Now if we could just fix PvP for good and get rid of this stupid shotgun/hc meta
-
I hope they actually listen instead of overpowering game breaking balanced continue to cause a lot of pent up tension toward certain things especially right now with hand cannons

2 RepliesThey not gonna replied to every little wants the community cries about every 3 days..... They see it...decide it's not worth much Maybe if the community had better ideas and stop upvoting terrible ideas....

You want their attention be politically correct or say the truth about something. They will come find you lol

30 RepliesThey used to here. But this place is 10x more toxic with nothing constructive usually. Gotta really hand it to the ninjas for managing tho- they are truly patient.

8 RepliesOnly time you’ll see a reply is if a thread is locked, warned, or banned.

22 Repliesfunny when the only non-players that ever reply are the Forum Ninjas, and only when you comment something (according to them) offensive 🤣🤣🤣🤣

11 RepliesThe issue with this forum is a lack of constructive criticism and just plain toxic mindsets, the subreddit always gets 2-5 bungie replies on Thursday's (sometimes by the actual devs and not community managers) Half of the people on this forum still think Luke smith is in charge of the game, he hasn't been in the chair for months now, that goes to Joe blackburn (Aka the guy who removed sunsetting), if your forum is still whining and moaning about old info that has been changed, that just shows that the users on the forums are not useful data and feedback, but rather pointless interactions. Not to mention the utterly disgusting harassment and negativity when a community manager DOES respond, it's absolutely pitiful that these people treat them like this, they have no say on what goes on with development, only providing community feedback, they are people too and these users could very easily be affecting their mental health with the amount of harassment they receive. You shot the messengers, don't expect pity when they don't respond to you after that.
-
9 RepliesIt is their forum. They control it. So why are they not using it? Why not just shut it down because they ignore it 99.9% of the time. I have Bugs that I have reported 10 times with full details that still sit with ZERO RESPONSES too. Not even "We are looking into it" - they simply do not care and they should, because if you burn people with Destiny, what do you think they are going to say about your next set of games?

2 RepliesBiggest issue with Bungie replying on HERE ironically is how toxic asf the replies are. Just borderline hate speech, heck ninjas/mentors get RIPPED about , why even bother . Agreed. I don’t use Reddit or Twitter. Not saying people like me should be catered to, but you’d think Bungie would use their own website to announce missing patch notes, server updates, etc.

This may be all super hypocritical and ironic- but no worries! I remember something my mom used to tell lil me before I left for elementary school in the mornings. “Don’t be stupid! Embrace the Suck!” I just think that sometimes you gotta roll with the punches. Yeah people can be aggravating, but we’re all human right? So, we’re all fallible beings that make mistakes. There’s probably been times where we have been aggravating ourselves (I know I have been). “Don’t be stupid!” I think my good ol’ mother was trying to tell me to just not do dumb shit, ya know? Don’t start fights. Don’t put forks in the electric outlet- stuff like that. Pretty simple I think. Most of us aren’t trying to be stupid, but sometimes we just need to take a few steps back and relax. There’s no need to rush. No need to bite back at people that try to bite at you. Just keep swingin in your metaphysical hammock and flip them off while you read “Common Sense for Dummies”. Or maybe don’t flip them off. Just hangout in the hammock lmao. Don’t give heed onto the weirdos who want a little chaos. Don’t give them that attention, just chill and let them do their thing. Cuz if everyone ignored them and let them do their thing, no one would be upset or anything cuz we’d be ignoring them. See where I’m getting at? Just…shoot straight and true. You’ll avoid all the obstacles and won’t need to worry about a lucky ricochet to get you out of a weird angle you shot yourself into. If you don’t mess with stupid, then the stupid can’t mess with you. Kinda why I just don’t have social media. Most of it is weird anyway. “Embrace the Suck!” Before you ask- no, this isn’t a sexual reference lol. My momma was just telling me that life already sucks, so just roll with it. If you screw up, own it and move on. Don’t dwell on it. Don’t try and take it back. What is done, is done. So get over yourself and apologies to the peeps you need to apologies to. Most people tend to lean towards other people who show a little humility every now and then. Like I said above, we’re all human (mostly) and all imperfect beings. There’s no need to point out other people’s flaws and be all weird and judgy when we know we aren’t perfect either. Maybe that was a little hypocritical of me to say, because I know I’m far from perfection too, but I’m going to work at it the best I can. Because I prefer happiness instead of gripes. And nothin makes the gripes better than spreading it around- ya know? Im flawed!! And you know what? I’m OK with it because that means there’s room for me to grow. There’s always room to grow, so keep growing, damn it! Don’t shrivel up into a wimpy lil shrub! Just worry about you. You can’t control other people so just learn to forgive and forget- and better yet, learn from their mistakes and move forward. I hope I got through to someone here.

Honestly, do yourself a favor and start caring a whole lot less. If they don't care, do the same. Why should you spend much of your energy into something they don't invest in?
-
Well "we're listening" did become a meme. So it's either they speak only when they have confirmed info, or they just do that again. Would it be nice if there was more communication and actual change? Sure. But it's been proven over the past 6 years that that's not happening. So whatever.
-
15 RepliesThis game/product is a perfect epitome of the ultimate cash cow. The consumer base will eventually accept anything, hence being proactive in terms of communication would only bring more bad publicity as Bungie doesn’t have a reliable time table. What is put on Reddit or Twitter is more like a Tinder profile.

1 ReplyEdited by TJ_Dot: 6/20/2021 11:32:04 PMThere's a level of fairness you have to give to them because some here are definitely not constructive or outright toxic in retaliation to perceived negative treatment, however, this is pretty much the case with anywhere. This makes the situation as much Bungie's fault as it is the community's, and the CMs are in a limbo-like state acting as a bridge between two negative charges repelling. We cannot fault Cozmo or dmg, or whoever over what they cannot do. None of us know the limitations if any, so silence is hard to speculate on. Personally, I'd be trying to make friends with everyone here/wherever if it were my literal job to be the community's "bridge". I applaud Warframe for having community streams throughout the week. You get to know them as people. It comes across as an actual effort towards building community. Comparatively, Bungie doesn't do much of anything. The TWAB is an anemic newsletter and I am not counting Twitter, that chaotic cesspool of evil. It's the lack what they could be doing that disappoints me, but it's impossible to gauge since we don't know what they can't do. Nor do we know if they can't even tell us what that is.

Honestly this community can be, and is very very toxic. I don’t understand when people be like “why doesn’t bungie communicate with the community”. I mean, do you not see these forum posts? Yeah some people slip by with constructive criticism, but a lot of forum posts tend to get a little personal. Like people real life have issues and trouble with delivering solid, constructive criticism.
