The storm was one of the main points in almost all the videos for Beyond Light. Since we are in desperate need for new crucible maps, i feel like it works perfectly.
edit: holy hell this blew up! Glad everyone seems to like the idea, hopefully Bungie sees it and responds!
edit 2: Top of the forums!!!
edit 3: The idea for the storm would be at a random point in the match, the storm would come in obscuring vision a bit for all players - it would NOT slow anybody or any atributes like handling.

I’m not really quite sure how I’d feel about distorting weather on a PvP map, where most aspects of sight are critical. However, I’d totally be down to try it. Maybe revamp the old “First Light” PvP moon map and make it a Europa Map. Allow players to use sparrows, interceptors, & tanks. Hell, bring back Rift for something like that, since the map would be so big. :)
-
too innovative, does not compute
-
Now THIS sounds pretty cool. I would think it should be more like a game mode for the storm, rather than a map tho
-
3 RepliesA map within the ascendant plane would be dope too.
-
Because then the community will cry for nerfs lmfao
-
2 RepliesWould completely subvert the shotgun/120 HC meta. Thermal scopes, Wish-Ender and Bitterpearl, Arctic Dreamscape, Monochromatic shaders......
-
1 ReplyOh yeah that’s a gre.... I see shotguns. Lots and lots of shotguns.
-
I say that map should allow for sparrows inside crucible.
-
Bonus points for disabling radar and causing you to move slightly when airborne in storm. That would be a useful addition though as long as one person doesn’t see normally because they are slightly outside of storm and other person is in it (environmental effects on some games do that)
-
1 ReplyI think it is a good idea but it sounds like too big of a task for the current sandbox/PVP crew. They cannot manage the mode as it is.
-
6 RepliesNot just that but I’d just want bungie to be more chaotic (in a fun way) with crucible, like having bigger more open maps, vehicles, and power weapon drops every so often kinda like what D1 vanilla had at first Kinda tired of a hyper competitive focused pvp
-
I've been saying this for forever
-
-blam!- yeah!
-
2 RepliesStasis didn’t turn enough pvp players off of destiny let’s make a map that has stasis abilities built in. 10/10 five star idea right here. Give this person an award regular junior Einstein right here.
-
3 RepliesBecause a lot of people are already having severe fps drops on europa, so it won't be fair to incorporate it into crucible.
-
9 RepliesAnd have stasis regen 😊
-
1 ReplyYes. A roaming sharknado of shotgun hunters. All we need.
-
Lol , we already have that with hunter stasis supers
-
That’s actually cool as hell. A series of buildings or something with zones that slow and then kill you if you are out there too long. That opens the door for so much. Maps with lava, geysers, toxic gas vents, the potential is practically limitless.
-
It's still I Hammer everywhere. I was going to give it benefit as was IB. But I Hammer infesting crucible still. Connection issues all the time as well. It's just not fun and the maps need changing as always seems to be CQC type maps where shotguns rule. Just.Not.Fun. x
-
I know its my second comment in this thread, but seriously: Imagine how much people would simple quit the match when Europa shows up on pre-match YAY! a map with low visibility so SHOTGUNS CAN RULE EVEN EASIER....
-
2 RepliesMake the maps big too. Give us some damn variety already, this is absolutely insane how we don't have new maps.
-
I said it on another post. They should add hazards to some of the maps (like in CoD) that could affect the Guardians in some way
-
3 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 6/15/2021 10:07:28 AMIt’s disgraceful that Beyond Loot didn’t bring at least 3x new Crucible & 1x new Gambit maps to the game Throwing in weather effects that currently really don’t affect anything - might be interesting if the only ways to see opponents is via the thermal scopes (highlight enemies) that are found/rolled on certain weapons
-
1 ReplyThey must be working on it. It's been a while since we've had updates on PvP maps.
-
2 RepliesMore maps, different map sizes, creative game modes, more gun plays (why not primary only since we already have special/shotgun and abilities only!), and much more. I have never really looked at (read expected anything from), other FPS, except for The Division 1 (because of survival, resistance, and ofc the fun builds and loadout functions available in this game), however I find the trailer of the new Hallo very attractive and refreshing. I wish Bungie could bring some creativity to their game.
