Stasis ruin game just for Apes
Am not big fan of stasis but i do hate using shotguns and play against them.I found the best counterplay against "silverbacks" is stasis and i love it,not because of stasis because it counter most braindead playstyle and since majority of playerbase using them i like shattering them to pieces.Also map desing favor silverbacks and sliders so stasis help a lot.

Apart from dodge spam, I have found stasis to be best at mid range not close range. Shurikens miss at close range more times than hit and the super is almost impossible to use at close range. The dodge mechanic can only be effective at close range. Grenades at close range can be 50 / 50 being glacier. Your opponent can shatter your own grenade and kill you easily.

Edited by aequus: 4/19/2021 4:13:58 PMIt actually makes my rushes more successful, I either slow a group and rush in get a few kills and get out, Someone is crouched and I don't see them on the radar until i'm right on top of them, no problem, I dodge they miss their shot, they're slowed and I kill them. If anything, Stasis has made it easier to ape.

Stasis actually makes the game easier for aping. It’s just broken all around. Chuck in a coldsnap and freeze multiple people, increasing your shotty damage keying you snipe them while they can’t move. Titan slide is broken especially paired with a shotgun and the fragment freeze melee for aping

5 RepliesThe truth is, stasis forced players to adapt to a different playstyle, and THAT is why so many hate it. It can defend against rushers, which gives rushing something it had little of before stasis,.....risk. Anything that counters a persons playstyle, or forces them to change, is hated.

2 RepliesI'm not an ape and it ruins the game for me as well. Bungie literally did not think of how badly it would affect balance by not reworking the light based classes to have something to compete against the constant slow/freeze of stasis spam.

6 RepliesStasis ruin's the game for just about everyone, being frozen or slowed in a movement based shooter was just a horrible idea. On the PVE side it was brilliant, but it doesn't work on the PVP side of the game. They really should have just changed it to direct damage like most of the light classes instead of this freezing/slowing that we have now.

1 ReplyI am able to stop them with my ikelos smg. Not always but it does pretty well. Some of these guys just run around the map using only their shotgun. There is way too much going on in this game. Gun play should be the main focus not freezing sliding and shot gunning. I can’t believe how far this game has fallen it used to be so much fun playing crucible. I don’t use any of this crap it does not take much skill to use them.

20 RepliesIf you want to counter the shotgun ape, but don't want to touch the sublcass which shall not be named, you can always run a high strength build on a void hunter. The blinding smokebombs will stop their momentum and leave them as a nice target out in the open.

2 RepliesStasis stops bad apes and gives you a false sense of security. A high quality rusher will still tear a stasis user apart. Stasis is easily baited out and verticality is its biggest enemy.

While Stasis is as brain dead as aping, this is the only good defense I have ever heard.
