So as far as how matchmaking has been going for me, especially compared to this time last year, all I can say is...
...ya did good Bungie, ya did good.

What?

Hey, let me ask you a question if you don't mind. Have you played a decent amount since the season started? Like more than 10 matches or so, because this game really feels like they have been working on the matchmaking to me. I was just wondering if its just random or anyone else has seen the same thing.

Edited by blubs: 2/10/2021 8:42:10 PMI played maybe 5 comp games and I did my quick play pinnacle

Did you not notice its somewhat different? Especially when compared to some of the more historically distant periods of matchmaking. Its really getting better from what I can tell but I'm trying to be careful not to think that just because things are going well for me that means its better for everyone. That's the only reason I asked. I must sound like a straight up nutcase to you right now but I'm being serious. Especially as far as the way the game works around shot registration and movement responsiveness. To me it feels like someone who rrreeeeeealllllly knows what they are doing has been putting their hands on this game. Like I said I know it sounds completely -blam!-ing crazy to you but in a good portion of my matches it has been feeling like this game is ready for primetime.

It’s as bad as ever Losing comp games were I get over 30 kills and teamsters are trash At least for me
-
I've only played 2 matches of comp. And I'm on a really long losing streak. But the game is working so much better than what it used to. Or at least that's what it seems like. The season just started so it could be a random occurrence but it used to be that I would have no shot registration whatsoever for like the first 20 matches of the season no matter what.

I still get trash hit reg tho
-
Comp is always bad at the beginning but in Control even though I've done nothing but lose I've had way more shot registration than usual.

Good for you

Edited by A_mo: 2/11/2021 5:03:40 PMYep. I sat and lost and lost while I was waiting for laundry to get done and really couldn't have been happier. I even threw money at the Bungie Store afterwards. Because for me it has never really been that much about what other people are getting or doing, its is my character really doing what it appears to be doing on the screen. Lost to so many stacks and didn't care because when I shot them they actually took damage. Now when the matchmaking pendulum swings in the other direction there's a good chance I'm going to dragon ball z full of so much matchmaking math that I will be running through the game like a streamer. Like a streamer KillerPro. This shit is gonna make me want to streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam. Which I would never do btw because I hate the sound of my own voice.

I’ll tune in Stop a follow HMU if you ever wanna run some pvp on pc

I'm on PS4 so it would have to be crossplay if and when they can get that working without it exploding. Things seem to be going good so far though. I wonder if they are going to make set it up such that streamers will actually be getting kilt a lot more. Some (not all) of them might be a little surprised. I always said if they really ever put effort into trying to make this game what everyone said it was then things would get reallllllly different.

Yeah I agree lol

They have definitely been working on this. It should be obvious if everyone is having a similar experience relative to the way things have been before as what I'm having. Its just way more polished all around. Its probably sweatier overall but its just so much more of a polished product and its a real PvP. Its so obviously different that people should be able to tell.
