Ive been a PS main since 2015 but grew up with a PS2 so ive pretty much been with playstation my whole life with the exception of the PS3/360 era (in which i was on wii and wii u). Why im considering switching is because PS is no longer gives me the happiness it once did as alot of people i know are now on xbox or on pc and its selection of multiplayer games/functionality is bad (maybe its just me idk). So my question to all xbox players is: Do I get a One S, One X, or try to wait for the newest one to get restocked? Also any game recommendations or xbox knowledge would be extremely helpful as well

One X is good if you can't afford the Series X. You'll have fun in halo MCC get minecraft updates early with insider hub and lots more

You'd probably enjoy Skyrims mod selection on Xbox as it has four gigs and a wider selection due to Microsoft being more chill when it comes down to custom assets not as much as the pc but sizeable enough for you to have more fun than on Skyrim for Ps. As for other games it's a matter of taste I guess.

The only reason I’d ever get an Xbox is to play old titles that the PS4/5 can’t. I’m talking the OG Battlefront series, Metal Arms, hotwheels racer, Cabella’s dangerous hunts, etc. I’ll forever remain a Sony supporter when it comes to current-gen online gaming.
Sorry, all out of salt.
I would wait and get the newer one. But keep in mind you can also play most Xbox games on a Windows machine, and a decent number of them (MCC included) allow crossplay. Plus, you’d get access to a load of other PC-only games and some pretty generous discounts.

I’m a pc guy personally, so if I bought a console I’d be inclined to get the newest and best one available. Since upgrading later isn’t really an option like with a computer, I’d rather pay the extra cost to have a product with the potential to last a little longer. But then again.. with the way consoles do “generations”, perhaps that mindset isn’t really applicable here anyway. 🤷♂️

Play on Xbox.

Xbox is good, it might have worse servers than PS but it has first person shooters like nothing else. Halo is one of the best games of all time.

Edited by deathwolfclaw666: 12/15/2020 3:16:59 AMNeither. Go for the PC. Most upcoming Xbox games are also coming to PC (only game I know of so far that isn't is a remake of a PC game). PC has gamepass. You'll get access to not only Xbox games but loads of big PC exclusives and indie games. But if you must go for the downgrades I suggest going for the gamepass sub that comes with an Xbox device if you can. As for games. Gears of War, Halo and Fable.

Game Recommendations
Halo MCC and Halo Wars 1 and 2. All the way.

Definitely wait for the newest one. You’ll get more use out of it.

Even if not an option I would say PC since Xbox games are coming to it too and you have to only pay once for your internet without the PS+ Xbox Gold scams. But for actual next gen console go with the one with more friends.

Edited by RufousTeacher29: 12/14/2020 3:13:18 PMIf you don't mind slightly longer load times and slightly lower graphics, the One X would be my recommendation. If you're willing to spend more, the Series S does have some things like faster loading, Quick resume, etc. As for games you should probably just get Game Pass (Ultimate if you can). I don't have any actual purchases on my account since most games I want are on Game Pass

If you do, welcome to Halo! Seriously, play The Master Chief Collection.... However, due to first releases of any new system is fraught with delays, multitudes of updates and glitchiness. I was a first adopter on the Xbox One, and I and many of my friends are waiting to get the X until around Spring, maybe even late Summer of '21, until they get it all smoothed out and have more games on it. If you get an S, being cheaper now you'll be all set until you decide if you want to go for the X later on.

One X shouldn't be too expensive now but there's no real reason to get the next gen Xbox. The main advantage Xbox has over the other platforms is user friendliness and accessibility. You're probably already aware of the lack of exclusives and that remains true with the Series, but if you get an Xbox One then you basically also have access to 360 and original Xbox. This is excellent user friendliness. Combine this with the presence of Game Pass (which also has access to Live Gold) and the better accessibility options and it's the best system for third party gaming. Also you have game share, so if you go halves on the price with a friend, you can reduce the cost and both benefit even though technically only one of you has it. In terms of games, like I said, it's basically a third party system since there are hardly any exclusives. The only Xbox exclusive that matters is Rare Replay (which is a collection of most of Rare's history, though it doesn't include Donkey Kong Country for obvious reasons), maybe Sunset Overdrive if you can get used to the gameplay. Dead Rising 3 and Halo are okay.

Just get a pc.
