Eververse and Unnecessary RNG hold Destiny 2 back.

Eververse and unnecessary RNG hold this game back by doing one key thing: Removing the value player investment from the experience. Humor me here. Imagine you see a player with an exotic ornament. What if instead of going "Huh. Looks like he dropped $10.", you went "Holy crap. That guy has 1000 precision kills in PvP with that thing." What if when you see a guy with an awesome ship or sparrow, it's an indication of a really hard triumph he completed, rather than dropping bright dust or silver. What if you could directly unlock weapon attachments (special mod slots in this case), or be granted the ability to change one perk one time on a gun by investing time in it? By getting experience with it? What if you could directly influence the stat distribution on your armor of choice by gaining experience with it, rather than grind activites over and over again for the right roll? (Adjusting a good roll would he cheaper than adjusting a roll with an even split, so there would still be value to good rolls and high stat totals.) What if our ability to really fine tune our build was primarily affected by our investment, rather than RNG? What if Banshee served as an auction house where you can put up your weapons or see other weapons for sale from other players? What if you could put up a God roll Summoner in exchange for a Spare Rations with the a roll of your choice? My points are that: 1. Eververse is literally filled with enough items that some of them can be turned into earned rewards. Logically, Eververse can't be removed entirely, but vanity items can still be split between Eververse and earned items, or the amount of things Eververse sells could remain the same, but much more vanity items are added into the game that can be earned. 2. While RNG does have a place in this game, it doesn't need to be the only factor affecting player builds and experience.
