Not a long one this time.
It's a pain when you have 3 characters and you get, what feels like, 20k energy weapons from pinnacle activities. Especially since GOS seems to have a heavy focus on energy drops.
It's also a pain for people who have 1 or 2 characters.
SO, an idea on how to fix this, just on the surface at least, would be to give us the option if we want an armour piece or a weapon as a reward from a pinnacle activity.
Say you do the crucible matches, instead of just dropping whatever your reward is at the end, a selection screen pops up and you can pick "Weapon" or "Armour" and just get a random drop in there. This could be integrated for all pinnacle activities, maybe not raids and dungeons, but it would be a start to combat this terrible RNG.

4 RepliesIt wont help i had 5 focused armor based engrams and i needed a helmet and i got everything then the piece i needed. some think its rigged and will make sure you wont get what you need for a long time. i have done pinnacles and still no helmet. so you could pick armor and it will give your highest armor slot so you wont progress.

I do feel like this is something they are/should think about. Your suggestion is a much simpler approach to this current engram focus for specific loot and was also how it worked in D1. I would even put up with the focus engrams (if this is bungies way forward) being featured at all vendors when we complete a pinnacle activity.... I would even be fine with it requiring some sort of material/consumable to focus a pinnacle just to not remove the RNG factor completely and somewhat reward people for putting in a little extra something for the focus engram pinnie!

1 ReplyOr maybe some form of consumable that gives you either weapon or armour on your next pinnacle drop... Who needs a consumable for glimmer really? So can't be that hard to implement , definitely a good idea as pinnacle drops are our only source once hitting the power cap so hopefully something there looking at.
